Reviving the Hummer brand in the form of a full-size battery-powered pickup, the GMC Hummer EV was introduced in October of 2020 offering a combined output of up to 1000 HP from its electric motors. This 2022 Edition 1 example is finished Interstellar White and equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, air-ride adaptive suspension with Extract Mode, four-wheel steering with CrabWalk, Super Cruise driver assistance, Watts to Freedom launch control, a trailer brake controller, UltraVision underbody cameras, steel underbody armor, removable transparent T-top panels, a power tonneau cover, tailgate speakers, and a 5-foot bed with a MultiPro tailgate. This limited edition is the sole model available for the 2022 production year and includes a two-tone Jet Black and Light Grey interior with bronze accents and Edition 1 badges, bronze-colored wheels, and Apollo 11-inspired details, such as lunar surface-patterned speaker grilles and rubber floormats, a pre-launch countdown for the Watts To Freedom launch control, and themed graphics for the dashboard displays. Showing under 500 miles on the odometer, this GMC Hummer EV is now being offered for auction out of Ohio.
All Edition 1 Hummer EVs are finished in Interstellar White (GAZ) with a black roof, featuring LED headlights and exterior lighting, front and rear recovery hooks, rocker panel protectors with assist steps, and power-folding heated side mirrors. In addition, four removable transparent Infinity Roof panels are equipped as well as an optional power tonneau cover over the 5’ bed with MultiPro tailgate speakers. All Edition 1 models come equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, which provides 18” black aluminum wheels mounted with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, rock sliders, skid plates, and Ultravision underbody cameras, as well as the Trailering Package that consists of a trailer hitch with an integrated trailer brake controller.
The Lunar Horizon interior features Jet Black and Light Grey leather upholstery, accented with Bronze trim and an “Edition 1” badge on the dashboard. Amenities include 12-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation functionality, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 13.4” touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, SiriusXM and OnStar, a 14-speaker Bose premium sound system, keyless entry, remote start, wireless charging, and Super Cruise, which allows for automatic lane changes and hands-free drive assistance.
The Hummer EV Edition 1 is powered by an Ultium Drive electric motor configuration, which combines 3 electric motors to produce a claimed output of 1,000 HP and 11,500 lb.-ft of torque. The single-motor front-drive unit features an electronic locking differential, and the rear axle uses two motors that can be synchronized to mimic a locking rear differential. Using the Watts to Freedom launch control system, the Hummer EV can reach 60 MPH in just 3 seconds and is said to have a factory-estimated range of 329 miles. The battery pack can be charged using an 800 volt/350-kW fast charger, or the provided charging adapter for standard electrical outlets, although at a slower rate. Other performance features include the CrabWalk four-wheel steering system allowing for diagonal travel, adaptive air suspension with Extract Mode, which raises the ride height up to 6 inches, adaptive dampers, and regenerative braking.
