@joseph I don't blame you. I'm of the same mindset. If someone wants to buy my mostly shop quality library for what I feel is reasonable - great. I'm not going to try and hawk it on some fb or cl forum. Here ok maybe, Hemmings maybe, BaT NOT. Enjoy your cars man. And yeah 14-16 Cayman and an early 996 Mezger are my next acquisitions.
@Fronkenstein , I sold my 944 concurs quality 26,000 mile Turbo for $33,000 to a dealer in Arizona. Sounds like a big dollar amount but I put over $22K in maintenance and replacement of age related components over the past 5 years. Had a low mileage 86 911 that I sold 10 years ago for $30K. It's now worth $60+.... but the problem w/ 30 year old cars are they take big bucks to rebuild anything. $25,000 for a proper 3.2L air cooled. A modern Porsche Cayman 2014-16 is the best car Porsche ever build when you factor in price. Even those cars are dropping into the $40's w/ people getting ready for the 4.0 GTS Cayman. I am retiring next year and cannot afford to keep pumping money into a depreciating asset. Porsche is on a mission to keep improving their cars so the older ones are not held and sold for more money. There are so many Cayman GT4 owners who will be getting abused on their cars values when the GTS is released. Unless you are buying a GT3RS and keeping it in a garage your car values will be soon going to minimal once the electric cars are released with a million mile battery...... As for my manuals I will keep them for a reminder of when i was foolish enough to buy a car that cost me a $1,000 in service every time it went to the mechanic and that I paid $2/mile to enjoy it!!
Unfortunately you missed the market hype on the "redbooks". I have every red book and was offered $10K for them 2 years ago and turned it down. I'd be lucky to get half of that. Case in point _any_ 356 manual was worth $250-$750 apiece at that time. Really nice collector quality sets were worth $1500. Shop sets today are sitting at $250 and not moving. I literally have a 1000 pounds of Pcar manuals, updates, special tools, full shop-only electrics, turbo, turbo S, all carrera models up through 2007. All for sale but no takers. Your manual set is worth $250 all day long. $500 is a stretch but as you say it will save you that in spades especially when you have an electrical problem - and you will because it's a Porsche :D

@joseph you are correct about prices back in 2016…… I sold a ‘76 turbo with 6000 miles on it for $425,000…… That same car is now available for under $200,000. 1965 911‘s were $250,000-300,000 Back in 2015-16 and now they are (in many cases) less than half of that price. As with most things Porsche-, prices have retreated back to pre-crazy price rise of 2015

@Randykyra ... That's correct. It's a complete set for the entire 944 series including engine, electrical, body, and transmission for 944, 944S and the turbo engines
@Randykyra , Volume #1 has a section for 16 valve engines.
I think I found my answer in the pictures. Volume 1a says 16valves....:)
Joseph, does it completely cover the 1987 944s. Need to rebuild a head and setup the timing. Being a twin cam it's much different from the standard 944.
