Available for auction is an authentic BMW Motorsport Division sign. Measuring 27" in diameter and 1/4" thick, this rare solid aluminum BMW sign is in excellent condition free of any cracks or chips. The back of the sign reads "BMW Motorsport GmbH West Germany 1975 München 80337."
On May 1st, 1972, history was written when BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded. The early 1970s were the dawn of a new age for BMW: A new, young Board of Management under Eberhard von Kuenheim had set out to strategically power and pursue the ongoing success of the Company. Including the legendary BMW Four-Cylinder as well as the establishment of BMW’s own in-house Sports Division.
