1978 Porsche 930 Turbo

This 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo is #286 out of 735 Porsche 930s produced from August 1977 to July 1978. This specific car was imported into California in 1998 where it has remained since. The car is finished in Guards Red over a Black leather interior.  Power comes from a numbers matching 3.3L flat-six turbo engine producing 265HP and 291 lb-ft torque, paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle.

In 2014, this 930 received a full repaint, converting it from its original color of White to its new Guards Red finish. The paint is said to be in excellent condition with virtually no flaws, aside from a scratch on the bottom of the rear valence (as pointed out in the photo gallery.) In 2018, a new set of BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires were installed onto the original set of 16” Fuch wheels. The seller claims to have only driven the vehicle 1000 miles since.

The interior is reportedly in excellent condition with very minimal wear. As seen in the photo gallery, some custom upgrades have been made including: A leather wrapped steering wheel with Red stitching, leather seats with Pepita houndstooth cloth inserts, floor mats with Red Turbo lettering, Red seat belts, RUF style petal set, Rennline footboards, fire extinguisher, and an Alpine head unit.

A RUF style quad outlet Euro exhaust along with upgraded Turbo headers and scavenge pump reservoir have also been installed to this turbo.

In December 2018, this 930 received a full engine rebuild at a cost of over $18k. The seller reports the car to be in excellent mechanical condition with no issues. The sale will include all necessary documentation of this project including all receipts, and multiple photos of the entire process.

A full service was performed in July of 2015 including:

  • Upgraded K27 Turbo 7200
  • Bosch fuel accumulator
  • New Sachs clutch kit
  • New fuel injectors
  • Ignition wires
  • New struts and shocks

The seller reports to have only driven the car 1500 miles since the work has been done.

This car is being offered with a clear title, all books, all keys, tool kit, and extensive service records with documentation covering the engine rebuild and repaint.

@MB-porsche Hello, thank for the questions but I don't have anything your asking for. I bought it from European Collectables already painted and then had the engine rebuilt and the interior completely redone as you see it. Car drives as new and is a total blast.
I bought a 1969 911S that has been getting the engine rebuilt and its almost done so I am selling to make room for it.

Dear All this is a very special car, should be 930 Martini Championship you look at the COA
som informant here about the M- cars
    https://germancarsforsaleblog.com/1978-porsche-930-martini/
Martini body stripes signifying a new option (M42), available only for 930s in Grand Prix white. It is believed only 200 were produced worldwide between 1976 and 1979, by which time the Turbo had been upgraded to 3.3-litre
So a very cool car to tace back to stock over time! when you get tired of red!
Thanks and good luck to the seller and buyer!

Hi, thank you. The receipt for the mechanical work is on the pictures in the add. It was done by Auto Strauss in Costa Mesa. The Uphostery work I just had done a few moths ago at Best Way Uphostery. They have done cars that have won in Pebble Beach. The paint was done a few years ago before I bought it and the receipt for that is also on the pictures.
Let me know if you need any other information.

    Thanks

    David.
