Up for auction is this show-stopping M491 Factory Wide-Body 911 Carrera Cabriolet. There were only 43 M491 Cabriolets built in 1989, making this one of the rarest Porsches produced. The previous owner had the car for 10+ years and was clearly a good steward of this special Porsche.
The Guards Red paint is in excellent condition and according to the seller, clear-coat had been added by one of the previous owners. Paint meter readings of the entire car are available in the photo gallery. The electric convertible soft-top is in excellent condition with no tears or creases.
The M491 option was not only rare but included cosmetic and mechanical upgrades to help make it a truly unique looking and performing Porsche. The M491 included the wider turbo body with whale-tail along with turbo suspension and brakes. The original black Fuch wheels are wearing Bridgestone Pole Position tires that have excellent remaining tread-life.
The original Cashmere interior is stunning with no flaws. A few noteworthy factory options include: dual powered leather sport seats w/ heating, leather cabriolet boot, sport steering wheel, Hi-Fi sound system and shorter gear lever. The vehicle is completely stock including the Blaupunkt radio and all components work as they should.
Power comes from a 3.2L flat-six engine producing 217HP and is connected to a 5-speed G50 transmission. The engine is in perfect running condition and according to the seller, is fully up to date on all service.
The sale will come with owner's manual, maintenance book, and a clean Carfax.

@-PORSCHE- were you the owner if this exact car? My father and I purchased it this past summer. I would love to get in touch if you did own it.
It’s odd to me how most collector cars, the convertibles carry a premium, but in the Porsche world, they take a hit in value.
RFMC has had this car for what seems like a while, and it appears to be a very great example.
