Up for auction is this striking 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa finished in Marina Blue Metallic over a rich White and Blue leather interior.  This well-sorted driver has 100,106 miles on the odometer and is stated to be in exceptional condition, as stated by the seller. This car started its life in Phoenix, AZ and eventually made its way into a collection based out of Seattle, WA. The current owner then purchased the vehicle and transported it to Boise, ID where it has been carefully driven, maintained, and enjoyed ever since.

This Targa underwent paintwork in its original color of Marina Blue Metallic and shows very nicely. The seller states the car to be in driver-grade condition with excellent structural integrity. There are no signs of rust, previous accidents, or damage. The seller notes minor scratches and rock chips. The Targa top has no rips or tears, but does show some typical wear from age. The car is currently sitting on 16” Fuchs Forged Alloy Wheels (6” front w/ 205/55 - 7” rear w/ 225/50).

The original White and Blue leather interior is in above average condition showing minimal wear. This rare interior is paired with factory electric sport seats, making this Carrera that much more special. All electronics are in working order including the factory Blaupunkt radio.

Powering this Carrera Targa is a 3.2 liter air-cooled flat-six engine rated at 217 HP. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via the desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states that there was an extensive amount of service done to this 911 when located in Washington including:

  • 87,500 Miles -  Replaced rotors and rebuilt brakes
  • 93,000 Miles -  A/C recharged
  • 94,000 Miles - Full engine service, replaced plugs, new clutch, fluids changed, distributor cap replaced, valve adjustment, and fuel filter.

The engine is reportedly in great running condition. Receipts for all recent work performed will be included in the sale.

In 1966, Porsche introduced the 911 Targa, a hybrid between a convertible and a coupe. This vehicle platform was the first of its kind and was named after the Targa Florio Road Race in Italy, where Porsche had many victories.

Accompanying this Targa is its original 2 sets of keys, service records, all books, and a clean Carfax report.

solid example of a driver g-body. there's literally no need to pay top dollar for one of these with low milage if you want to actually enjoy it. just my opinion tho. so much fun to drive these cars and far more smiles per hour than a 996 or 997.
