Up for auction is this well presented 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Gaurds Red over a black leather interior. The current owner acquired the car from a collector who was the original owner back in 2011 and has been under his care since.
The seller states that the Guards Red (LM3A) paint is all original and that the vehicle has never been involved in any accidents. Aside from minimal rock chips, the seller also states that the vehicle’s exterior condition is superb. Under his ownership as well as the previous owner, it has not been driven in inclement weather and has been stored during winter.
The black partial leather is stated to be in excellent condition with some minor wear. A small burn mark in the carpet underneath the passenger seat as well as minor cracks in the dashboard have been noted by the seller. As seen in the gallery, the car features dual airbags and the 180mph speedometer both of which were new for 1987. The original owner replaced the non-functioning radio with a Blaupunkt unit and aftermarket speakers. The seller added that the A/C needs a recharge and the cruise control is not functioning.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.5L inline-four engine, delivered to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted 5-speed manual transaxle. This otherwise stock example does have an aftermarket Gibson exhaust system. In 2014 and approximately 2k miles ago, Semeria Imports of Wheeling, Illinois performed a replacement of the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, crankshaft seal, washer pump, drive belt, and engine mounts. The seller added
The original 16” “phone dial” wheels are wearing a set of BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 tires with date codes from 2017.
As per the vehicles option codes, this 944 was ordered with the following options from the factory:
Accompanying the sale of this 944 Turbo are factory books, receipts from current ownership, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
