DEAL TANK: 1990 Porsche 911 964 "Sunburst Widebody RSR Backdate"

Unique, Fast, and Badass are a few words to describe this "Sunburst" 911 964 C2. Sunburst, out of Japan, is a pioneer of the super-wide 911 Porsche builds.  In addition for being known for its RSR backdate style, Sunburst is also known around the world for its weight reduction and increased handling. This specific example is known for its brutal power, incredible sound, and sinister look. Showing roughly 66,600 miles on the odometer, this backdate runs smoothly and is ready for the street or track.

In order to live up to the looks, performance upgrades such as Bilstein coil overs, PAGID brake pads, upgraded brake rotors, a GT wing, and custom gold 3-piece Workmeister wheels were installed. Weight saving measures included a sunroof delete, GT mirrors, light weight plexiglass side windows, fiberglass fenders, doors, and hood.

The red paint shows nicely aside from a few rock chips and some cracking by the left rear fender. The seller also states that there is minor scraping on lower rocker panels (as seen in photo gallery). The vehicle is in overall nice driver-grade condition.

The minimalist black partial leather interior is all business with no distractions. Holding you in place are a set of Recaro/Bride bucket seats that are paired with a harness bar, 4-point roll cage and upgraded MOMO Steering wheel. The car also has a center console delete with relocated buttons.

The brutal power of this RSR comes from a modified 3.6 Promodet motor, controlled by a G50 5-speed manual transmission. The engine was completely rebuilt approximately 3 years ago (20,000 km) and included upgrades such as Weber PMO carburetors, fuel pressure regulator, twin MSD’s, custom 6-1 RSR headers, and an RS clutch with a 964 cup car flywheel, and RS limited slip differential.  It’s safe to say that no expense was spared during this conversion.

Sunburst builds are famous for their look and functionality. There are not many of these cars around, especially in the United States, do not miss out on your opportunity to own a car that has all the upgrades and work done for you.

The sale will include a clean Carfax, books, and keys.

The car also comes with the air filters and covers for the carbs. Also, every hotrod is built to someone’s specific taste... if there is something the new owner may want to change or modify we can assist in doing so after the auction. Thanks

@afuria62 lol yes! And it works! In all honesty it’s just a catch can, and I’ve seen it in many Jdm built cars, it’s more a style... just like the oil cooler hanging off the front bumper, or someone wrapping a headband around a breather. It’s personal styling, if you buy it I’ll custom make you a badass catch can.

No expense spared? Who wrote this description. The builder used what appears to be a rusty cut up acetone can as a overflow tank, next to the engine fan, with kinked tubing inserted. I guess its a true statement, the owner didn't expense any money.
