DEAL TANK: 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo

This 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo is offered in eye-catching Guards Red over a Tan leather interior. This rare car has spent its entire life in California including the last 12 years with the current owner and has a known history since new. The odometer shows 41,995 cared for miles. Other than some light curb rash on the drivers side wheel and some small paint chips on the hood, this car is reported to be in excellent condition.  This 964 comes with an air-cooled 3.3L flat 6 engine connected to a 5-speed manual transmission w/ limited slip differential.  The Turbo was upgraded to a K-29S-11-11 Turbocharger, originally used on the Porsche 962 single turbo racecar

The Guards Red paint is believed to be all original and looks flawless other than a few small chips in the hood.  This vehicle sports Dunlop 225/40/ZR18 tires in the front and 265/35/ZR18 in the rear. The wheels are the RH Germany 3.6 turbo three-piece wheels with polished lips and feature colored Porsche crests in the center.

As seen in the photo gallery, the tan interior is in excellent condition and comes with rare factory ordered sport seats

This 911 Turbo has received the following desirable performance upgrades: lightened flywheel and clutch package, B&B Try-flow exhaust/with heat exchangers, K/N Filter, and Billstein PSS9 coilover suspension (lowering the stance to euro spec ride height).

The seller will provide all books, tools, keys, jack and service records from new, along with everything that came with this Turbo when it rolled off the showroom floor.

This Porsche comes with a clean Carfax. The seller confirmed the engine sports new plugs, a fresh valve adjustment and a new oil filter helping continue a strong and durable leak free performance.

The Porsche 964 Turbo was the successor to the 930 Turbo. The 964 was introduced in 1990 and was the next generation of 911 with 85% of the car being new and updated compared to its predecessor. While using the timeless dashboard and gauges from previous 911 generations, the 964 was significantly upgraded including a redesigned suspension that was the first major engineering change since the original 911. The 964 is highly regarded as one of the best 911’s ever produced.  The 964 is one of the most beloved designs in Porsche history due to its blend of classic 911 lines with a sporty but high quality ride.

Could you detail the 85% "new and upgraded" vs the 930?
3.3 is the same as mine, correct? (well I do have the BTR upgrade)...

  • 72MFI (seller) 2 weeks, 3 daysago

The estimate current BHP is around 400-420, it could be more. The Turbo pulls hard trough all of the gears, with no hesitation or miss and keeps you in your seat. Hope this helps, Thank you.

Hello, I am the owner of this stunning 1991 965 Turbo. I want to thank everyone for there comments and bids. I should mention some of the upgrades on the 962 Turbo in which it will flow over 600 BHP. The current BHP is somewhere between 400-425, give or take. This particular 911 Turbo will outperform a stock 91-94 3.3 and 3.6 Turbo, and its also a grocery getter. I also own a Ruf BTR in which this 91 Turbo is a tat slower. If the car meet reserve I am sure the new owner will not be disappointed. The 911 is blast to drive and the exhaust sound is nothing short of intoxication. It as always been garage and as been love by all of its previous owners and me. BOL to everyone and again thank you....

The 964 Turbo is a legend. I say this is one of the more pristine examples i've seen. This should do very well.

Not sure if the Red effects value at all but I am a bug fan of it on these cars. Guessing this is one of the more rare colors for the turbo?

Do all 964 turbos start like that? I'm not too familiar with these models. If not, any idea what might be causing the weak start?
