Up for auction is an exceptional 33K mile 2004 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet. This 996 is finished in a rich Seal Gray Metallic over a black full leather interior and features the very desirable GT3 wheel option. The Carrera 4S acquires many attractive features from the Turbo model including a wider body, upgraded rockers, and upgraded front bumper. This three-owner example is in beautiful condition throughout and is being offered by the selling dealer in turn-key condition just in time for Spring.
The seller states that the car's exterior is in excellent condition aside from some paint distortion just above the front license plate and slight fading at the very edge of the headlight lenses. The body panels are completely original and the convertible top is fully functional. The original factory GT3 wheels with 4S center caps are in excellent condition and wear a set of Hankook Ventus tires that the seller reports were recently replaced.
The photos show the interior to be in exceptional condition with only gentle signs of wear. The previous owner clearly took great care of the all original interior.
This example is outfitted with its original M96 3.6 liter engine delivering approximately 320hp and 273 lb ft of torque. Power is brought to the all-wheel drive system via a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states that prior to listing for sale, the rear main seal was replaced, a full fluid service was carried out, and the IMS bearing has been upgraded to the LN Engineering unit. This car is in excellent running condition.
The 996 model featured the most significant design divergence from the classic 911 series as well as a significant mechanical update to the all new water-cooled engine replacing the air-cooled engine. Only the front suspension, rear multi-link suspension, and a 6-speed manual transmission were retained from it's predecessor, the 993. The 996 was initially available in a coupe or cabriolet with rear-wheel drive, and later with four-wheel drive such as the one being featured here today.
The sale will include a clean Carfax, 2 sets of keys, and all original books.

@BlackSlacks hello. I recall sending you the receipts from the job. I had it done with the LN prior to listing it for sale, as I do with all 996’s of this era as well as early 2005 997’s. This is a turn key car and if that is what you are seeking look no
Further!
@11JM any idea when it was done? and what type replacement was done? Thanks!
@BlackSlacks hi. I don’t have the sticker.
@11JM received. Was the bearing registered with an ID number? Normally there is a sticker on the car either under the rear hood or in the door jamb?
@BlackSlacks I sent it to pcarmarekt, they will email it to you.
@11JM sorry for all of the questions.......can you show the receipts for the the IMS work?
@BlackSlacks there is some normal wear on the top but nothing that will warrant replacing it.
@11JM I do have a question about the condition of the top.......from the photos it appears that some areas are not as it should be.
@11JM Thank you......I am very interested......it is checking all of the boxes.
@BlackSlacks taking into consideration the description on the listing I would like to say first and foremost that this is a very nice car. Bearing in mind that I pride myself on being a very honest seller, i will nit pick and critique a bit just so the car exceeds expectations, Mechanically I received the car and did not find anything that needed to be addressed other than to match 2 new tires with the other 2 that were already installed by the previous owner. The car runs and drives amazing. I took it upon myself to have the rear main seal, IMS (LN Engineering), and fluids done just to make the car as turn-key as possible. As a 30k+ mile driver I would say that the car needs nothing. The panels are original paint, I metered them. The front bumper was definitely resprayed and it is safe to assume it was from chips or scratches. The hood and fenders are untouched. The headlights are starting to yellow as disclosed in the ad. Other than that I really can't say anything else against the car. You are welcome to send someone to inspect it any time.
@11JM Good morning......does everything work? If you were to keep the car.....what does it need now? I have sold 2 of my 996 cars and I am looking to get a 4S or turbo car.
@BlackSlacks Yes, feel free to place an offer.
@11JM is it still available ?

this is they type of cab that most people don't understand how quick it really is, but when you're in it, you can hammer.
@superfly hi, it is very slight, if you look closely at the photos, the border around the lights is slightly yellowing which is typical of these cars. It is hard to capture in a photo.
@PhilT911 my 2 cents, the difference in price between a 4S and a regular convertible now will seem like peanuts in a few years. These are truly in my opinion one of the best looking convertibles Porsche ever made. The regular 996 looks great in a coupe but in the convertible has no flares and is bland. I feel these are special because after the 996, the 4S just gave red brakes and some extra HP. These are really a turbo body car with the bumpers and everything. So special.
considering getting either a 996 cab or a Boxster this summer. leaning towards this or a 996 cab like it. got the itch for a convertible.

@BlackSlacks Hello. The seller will be sending it over and it will be added to the listing shortly.
Bid in the amount of $6,000
Full CarFax would be good.
Also, I can see the paint distortion mentioned just above the front license plate, but I cannot see the "slight fading at the very edge of the headlight lenses". Can you add a photo where this can be seen? Thanks.
Can we see the full carfax report? Also, can you please comment on the condition of the convertible top? Some of the photos show some wear on the top and the top possibly not fitting correctly on the drivers side? Can we also see photos of the maintenance records including the RMS and IMS replacement? Thank you.
Any service records? Proof of IMS replacement? Thank You!
Car sounds the business. Stock exhaust?
