Up for auction is this collector-grade 2005 997 Carrera Coupe. This all-original 911 celebrates the first model year of the 997 and is finished in classic Guards Red. With only 10k miles on the odometer, this Carrera is a true time capsule and is stated to be in concours condition.

The Guards Red paint is all original and stated to be in like-new condition. The car is sitting on factory 19" Sport Design wheels which are still wearing the original tires.

The interior is also in excellent, like-new condition. The only noted flaw is a slight area of bubbling on the speedometer gauge. Exclusive factory options include Guards Red seatbelts and instrument dials as well as an exterior paint matched center console. This Carrera also features heated front sport seats (with hard backs), Bi-Xenon Headlights, PCM with navigation and the Bose High End Sound Package. The seller states that it still smells new.

Power comes from a 325hp flat-six engine that is connected to a crisp 6-speed manual gearbox.  Additionally, this Carrera comes equipped with the Sport Chrono Package allowing the driver to further enhance their experience as well as clock lap times. The 997 is commonly regarded as the last of the analog 911's making it a true drivers car

A full service was recently competed including coil packs and spark plugs.  An all-original 997 of this pedigree is a rare find.  With its exclusive factory options and sought-after manual gearbox, this one is a standout from all of the rest.

The sale will include a clean Carfax, all books, service records, and both keys.

@Txporsche very common on these models. Nothing out of the norm. Thanks for looking.

  • Txporsche 4 years, 4 monthsago

If you zoom in on the gauges on the dash, you can see that all of them Re either bubbled up
or starting to bubble up. There is obviously a defect in the paint work on the gauge faces.

  • CRIMLAWGUY (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

If I hadn't just purchased another 997 C2S, I'd be all over this. Super-low mileage 997 6MT coupes are getting harder and harder to find.

@RedBoxCar the mileage has not increased by more than 5-10 miles. It is safe and sound in our climate controlled facility. Please feel free to submit an offer if you are ready to move forward with a purchase.

  • RedBoxCar (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Has the milage changed very much? Are you still entertaining offers?

  • CRIMLAWGUY (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@larrygk I'm happy to hear it's very evident FOR YOU. It's not on my page, period end. Maybe it's an iMac thing. Enjoy your omniscience.

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 5 monthsago

@larrygk hello. A reserve price is optional during auction. DealTank listings are post auction vehicles that didn’t sell. You can either buy now or submit an offer for the seller to review and either accept or decline. Thank you for using PCARMARKET

  • larrygk (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@pcarmarket Yes, the BIN price is very evident at the bottom of the page along with the 3 buttons on the right. So, does this car also have a reserve as I don't see that stated? BTW...just started following this site. Best of luck building it as an alternative to, well, you know who!

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 5 monthsago

@CRIMLAWGUY the buy now is on the search page as well as in the listing itself. Please look at the bottom of the page, you will see a buy no price on the left underneath the title as well as a green buy now button on the extreme right.

  • CRIMLAWGUY (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@PCARMARKET Hi there and thanks for the quick response. Where is the BUY NOW price for this listing? I just looked again and still don't see one. If you look at the other comments here, it looks like I'm not the only one who doesn't see a price listed. Again, really just trying to help out. Thanks.

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 5 monthsago

@CRIMLAWGUY hello. There is a buy now on this listing. All feedback is appreciated however, we did add a buy now feature to vehicles in the DealTank. The sellers may choose to have a buy now or not, that is entirely up to them.

  • CRIMLAWGUY (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

I wish prices were listed on these Deal Tank (DT) listings. A seller could just list a BUY IT NOW asking price and allow any interested parties to make offers if the BIN price is not to their liking. This model has worked well on auction and sale platforms. The whole "mystery price" thing is a turn off -- it makes buyers think the price must be really high, which quickly leads to them just clicking out of the page. Moderators - you can delete this if you like (obviously) but I mean this suggestion to be constructive for your consideration.

  • Sharris 4 years, 5 monthsago

@EUROsellinc what is the reason for this 911 to be for sale for so long?

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Sharris we feel the buy now price is more than fair for a car of this caliber.

  • Sharris 4 years, 5 monthsago

@porsche1999 1999-2008 have IMS issues. 911’s, Boxster’s, and Cayman’s. 2009 they replaced the bearing with a ceramic bearing.

  • Sharris 4 years, 5 monthsago

@EUROsellinc what are you looking to get?

  • porsche1999 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Sharris I did not think this year has ims issues? pls advise

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Skier_doc ok understood. Should you decide that you have interest in this particular automobile please let me know and I will answer any relevant questions for you. You are also more than welcome to schedule a viewing or inspection. Thank you.

  • Skier_doc (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@EUROsellinc Perhaps. Am more interested in a 997 Turbo. The low mileage is very nice and it looks to be in great shape. BB is considerably less on line.

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Skier_doc I wouldn't be able to give a particular reason, however, I can say that this is probably one of the finest examples available. Is there interest on your part?

  • Skier_doc (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Why has this car not sold?

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@Allagash hi. IMS has not been done. Correct this oil level is measured via the digital readout on the dash. Thanks.

  • Allagash 4 years, 7 monthsago

Has the IMS bearing been replaced?

Does this engine have a dipstick, or solely a digital oil level gauge on the dash?

  • Sharris 4 years, 9 monthsago

Been for sale fo many months. Why?

  • Sharris 4 years, 9 monthsago

    IMS bearing?

holy red! I don't really think of 2005 for a car that is collector grade but whoever holds onto this is primed with low milage if they hold on for 10 years or so and keep it between 10-15K. will be a classic someday!
