Up for auction is this 1-owner 2007 997.1 GT3 RS. This example is one of only 1,106 built, placing it among the most rare Porsche models. This car was purchased new by a PCA member who has only driven 4,800 miles and claims to have maintained it to the highest standard throughout its life. This race-bred machine is ready to be enjoyed on either the track or the streets.

This 911 is presented in stunning Jet Black with orange accenting. The car is currently in excellent condition. The seller states there was previous damage to the front of the car. The front bumper, hood and fenders were replaced  to original factory specifications.  The seller indicated that the work was done to a very high standard and that pre-purchase inspections are welcome by potential bidders.

The black interior shows very well and is in excellent condition. The $125k MSRP speaks for itself with options such as aluminum foot rest, thicker steering wheel in leather and the Sport Chrono Package. The car was also upgraded with tasteful modifications including Cobra bucket seats, bolt in roll cage and a Schroth racing harnesses.

This GT3 RS is powered by the legendary flat-six Mezger engine which produces 415HP at 7,600 rpm, and 300 ft-lb of torque. This GT3 RS capable of reaching 60 mph in a blazing 4.1 seconds. The seller states that the engine performs like new, and all services are up to date. This example has had track time in the hands of a skilled driver during the course of its life. Some desirable upgrades include Pagid yellow brake pads, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and 2-piece Brembo Rotors.  Tires are stated to have 80% tread life remaining, deeming this car ready for the road and a new driver.

The car comes complete with a clean Carfax, 2 sets of keys, the original window sticker, all books, and tools.

Soon after being introduced, the 997 GT3 RS became the must-have model in the Porsche lineup. It is said to be one of the most desirable desirable and collectable of the Porsche 911s.

If this sells anywhere near this price ..... it is a steal! I would think $135 is more in range based on all the details.

    Hi all!
I can't thank you all enough for your comments and interest in this beautiful car. I would also like to let everyone know that we absolutely stand by the quality of the car. Everything is in perfect order. If any of you were at Amelia Island this past March you may have seen me driving it. It was on the field at Werks Reunion and Festivals of Speed!

@@mainstream You can disagree, I am just talking my personal threshold. Not claiming that's what the market is or should be. Other people have a higher tolerance than I do for storied cars.

  • @mainstream (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

@switchcars I will agree to disagree on that, a 4k RS in this color would be 160-180 with no stories with a clean DME. I think anything under 130 is stealing but just my 2 cents

  • switchcars (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

I think the bidding has past my threshold of trying to steal a story car....but if the current seller has access to the chickadee "GT3 RS" plates that were on the car, I would like to buy those.

  • southshoresean (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

@robbbonanno You are correct, the damage occurred on track. Carfax is less than perfect in reporting on all incidents.
We have all receipts for repairs, and I can work on getting them uploaded Tuesday!
The oil coolers were replaced, and the chassis is 100%

  • robbbonanno (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

wow- that's a major incident.... not just "some damage" to the front. assuming this was on track damage which is why it did not make the carfax as it would have totaled the car. Do you have cross measurements for the chassis? Receipts? knowledge of which shop performed the repairs? I assume the oil coolers were destroyed too? Any inspection on the motor to see if shrapnel made it back to the engine and did damage when it was not turned off in time?
Has the coolant line upgrade been performed on this?

  • southshoresean (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

@nxTTT2020 Some insight on the crash, both front fenders were changed, as well as front bumper, hood, and front tub. The repairs are beyond incredible. I can post some photos from the underside of the car. Without knowing about the accident, it is impossible to tell!

  • nxTTT2020 (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

Hi. Any additional details from the seller regarding what was replaced from the accident and as to the quality of work.
