DEAL TANK: 2008 Porsche Cayman

Up for auction is this low mileage 2008 Porsche Cayman, which the seller has owned for 2 years.  It only takes a moment viewing the photos in the gallery to notice how well cared for this car has been throughout its life.  The all original Arctic Silver paint is in excellent condition and still has its new car luster.  The car has only been driven 29,273 miles and there are no mechanical or physical issues to report.

The sporty, yet luxurious black leather interior is said to be in excellent condition with minimal wear. Standard equipment includes power windows, locks, AM/FM stereo w/CD player, and cruise control.  This car was ordered with options such as power/heated seats and a Bose surround sound system.

Power comes from a mid-engine 2.7L flat-six, which produces 245 HP and is connected to a 5-speed manual transaxle.  The sporty yet comfortable driving characteristics of this Porsche Cayman are unmatched at its price point.  The great looking 18” Mag Sport wheels are wearing a set of New Nexen N5000 all-season tires with substantial tread life remaining.

The current owner took liberty of replacing the clutch and flywheel.  A DME report is present, confirming that the car has never been over-revved or tracked. Aside from a Fabspeed sport exhaust w/ Bypass controlled cockpit switch, this Cayman is all stock.

The Porsche Cayman is known to provide its owners with everyday drivability while delivering a fun and sporty driving experience.  The 47/53 percent weight distribution helps provide a balance that is clearly felt during spirited driving, while also helping to provide spacious luggage areas in both the front and rear of the vehicle.

This Cayman comes with a clear title, clean Carfax, all books, keys, service records, and a CPO warranty valid through October 2019.

@CWS2000 Hi Rennology did the work. I know that to replace the IMS bearing on the 987 Cayman the engine has to be disassembled. The shop did not do that so I don't really know if they did anything else to prevent IMS failure cwscarbroker

    Cws,
Very nice looking and well cared for Cayman.
Last July when the clutch and flywheel were replaced was an IMS upgrade kit also installed?

@superfly Theb2008 base model has a 2.7 as stated. Don't know why the Carfax states S but indicates a 2.7

  • superfly 1 weekago

Sorry for all the questions, but the Carfax report page you included says this car is a Cayman S, but the write just says Cayman. Carfax reports load off the Vin number so I'm confused why Carfax would think this car is an "S". Thoughts?

  • superfly 1 weekago

Can you also post the full carfax report? Thanks

  • superfly 1 weekago

The write up mentions a DME report, but I don't see it. Can you post it please?

@pemthomas507 agree, its amazing how many people when selling their car don't take the time to find a good place to shoot. cheers to seller for doing it right.

the contrast here between the car and the building makes this car pop

  • rheaumesammy 2 weeks, 1 dayago

@kellerdan you never know. its an affordable year.

  • kellerdan 2 weeks, 1 dayago

I bid on this car because it sounds incredible and would be a blast to drive. Nice presentation. I probably won’t win the auction but this is a really nice car. Let’s see where it goes.

  • rheaumesammy 2 weeks, 1 dayago

think I like this model better than the new caymans with how smooth it looks. whoever buys this will def be getting a beautiful car that's also fun to drive with a well centered handling.

  • kellerdan 2 weeks, 2 daysago

Bid in the amount of $9,700

  • @mainstream 2 weeks, 2 daysago

Wow nice car. Looks brand spanking new and sounds great too.

  • jonoakesturbo911 2 weeks, 2 daysago

@Matts thanks man - gotcha - yeah it sounds amazing in the vid

  • Matts 2 weeks, 2 daysago

@jonoakesturbo911 IMO, that is a super popular upgrade that is sought after but a little bit of work. So to have it already installed is a big deal. Sounds great too!

  • jonoakesturbo911 2 weeks, 3 daysago

@Matts why is it a big deal? curious cause I've seen it on a couple cars now. it sounds insane if you listen to the difference in the video the seller has - he revs the engine with it off and then with it engaged.

  • Matts 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Idk if the seller even realizes how great that Bypass exhaust is with a switch control. That is HUGE. Seller needs to make that a big deal!!

  • ca56ny 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Agreed! This is very clean... good luck to the seller.

  • maxmoulton 2 weeks, 3 daysago

wow this is absolutely pristine - love this cayman
