Crafted by the specialists at Beck, this 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder replica is finished in light blue over a black interior and features a 2,165cc flat-four engine paired with a 4-speed Freeway Flyer transmission. The air-cooled motor is built with a CB Performance 94mm bore engine case, a Super Race crankshaft and connecting rods, dual Weber carburetors, a 4-into-1 exhaust system, and Magnaflow mufflers. The car is also equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, H4 headlamps, a Nardi steering wheel, 15” steel wheels, and a Dynaudio Bluetooth sound system. The car was built over 4 years and was completed in 2012 when it was purchased by the seller’s client. This Beck 550 Spyder is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 2k miles showing on the odometer.
Resembling the legendary 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, the handcrafted fiberglass bodywork comes finished in light blue. Accessories include a rear clamshell decklid, dual engine grilles, H4 headlights with fluted lenses and chrome bezels, Porsche 550 Spyder badging, a driver’s side mirror, a polished fuel filler cap, a center-mounted tailpipe, and a removable black tonneau cover. The car rides on silver 15” steel wheels mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires sized 205/60. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cockpit is lined with black carpeting and features a pair of fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with red piping and Simpson lap belts. A three-spoke Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted ahead of analog VDO instrumentation. Other accessories include aluminum pedals, an adjustable rearview mirror, a fire extinguisher, and a Dynaudio sound system with a JL Audio amplifier and a Bluetooth receiver.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2,165cc flat-four engine that features a CP Performance 94mm bore case, chromoly pushrods, a Super Race crankshaft and H-Beam connecting rods, dual Weber carburetors, and a 4-into-1 exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. The rear wheels are driven via a 4-speed Freeway Flyer manual transmission with 3.88:1 gearing and a Kennedy Stage 1 200mm clutch. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. The seller notes a maintenance log is included showing the car’s full history of service.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is the best Beck Spyder we have ever sold. There has been tremendous attention to the details in this quality build. It runs well and has no needs at all. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed.”

@DriverM I see the original "doghouse" oil cooler but no other, is that what he is talking about? Shouldn't need another for street driving. Good looking car.
@BubbaMcCranky I am not sure but I imagine it is possible to add a three point seat belt.
@BubbaMcCranky Yes. It falls into the without top category.

Also, would there be any way to add a three-point seatbelt or shoulder harness?
It's unclear whether there are any strong structural members to anchor it from behind the seats.

Like @jab7106, I see the black tonneau cover. Just to confirm, there is not top that you can use while driving, right? Not that I'm planning to drive around in this with the top up much :-) but something like that does come in handy when you find yourself out in the rain. I've seen Spyder replicas with and without them. Just confirming that this falls into the "without" category.
Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $17,000
@jab7106 No worries.
Sorry....I saw the black cover in one of the photos. Ignore my question.
Does the car have or come with a tonneau cover?

@Crowdedgarage I just purchased a vehicle from New York, had it shipped to Texas and paid Texas state sales tax only.
@973marty My pleasure.
@Crowdedgarage I just checked with the mechanic who has maintained the car over the years. He told me that the car has a larger oil pan and an oil cooler in front of the Shroud. He didn't think any additional cooling was needed.
I hope that helps. I just uploaded 2 photos detailing the larger pan and cooler.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Thanks. Appreciate your candor!
@973marty I am not sure. It was built by the first owner and sold by Sloan Motorcars ( I miss Richard ) to my client years ago. I was able to get the records of the build info from Brett but that's all the info I have.
What I do know is the current owner has a vast collection and his own mechanical staff that takes care of all of his cars and race cars. This Beck has been fully sorted and needs nothing at all. He doesn't cut corners on any of his cars and you'd ben hard pressed to find a better build or another Beck 550 in better condition.
I will answer all questions to the best of my ability but some answers I just don't have.
It has a Connecticut transferrable registration and it's listed as a 1955 Porsche.
how is the car titled ?
Who built the car? Why did it take 4 years?
@Crowdedgarage I don’t think there is an auxiliary oil cooler but I will double check.
@Crowdedgarage Thanks for the NY tax explanation . I noticed the oil cooler in the regular place on top of the engine in photo 143; is there an auxiliary oil cooler on this car I didn’t see I the photos?
@Crowdedgarage I have to collect Sales Tax only if you are a NY resident. Otherwise you pay it in your home state when you register the car.
Bid in the amount of $10,000
What’s the tax consequence for out of state buyers? Are taxes due to NY ? Will you as the dealer have to collect taxes at time of sale?
