Now available for auction is this 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster Replica finished in the iconic color of Irish Green over a tan interior. Created by Vintage Speedsters of California, prior to the company being moved to Arizona in 2018, this Speedster is built upon the chassis of a 1968 Volkswagen and comes equipped with an upgraded electronic ignition system, adjustable front and rear suspension, a 4-speed Freeway Flyer transmission, and dual Kadron carburetors. Not to be overlooked, this replica is now being offered by its seller in California with under 7k miles driven since the completion of the build.
This handcrafted fiberglass body is finished in the coveted Porsche color of Irish Green. A tan convertible top is equipped along with a matching tonneau cover and side curtains. Custom “CruZin Windows” are also included which can be installed to reduce wind disturbance and provide a more comfortable top-down driving experience. Other details include chrome brightwork and Porsche Speedster emblems, dual Aero style mirrors with convex lens, an LED third brake light mounted to the top of the license plate, grill style headlight stone guards, and chrome wheels with baby moon hubcaps.
Inside, the cabin has been upholstered in tan leather and sand beige carpeting. Additional features include Coco floormats, an ivory shift knob, and a genuine Nardi wood steering wheel with Porsche crested horn button, Porsche crested seatbelts, and a radio with remote control.
Power comes from a custom-built 1915cc type-1 Volkswagen flat-four engine that is equipped with dual Kadron carburetors, electronic ignition, and a TriMill exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3:88 Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transmission. Other performance features include front disc brakes and an adjustable front and rear suspension. Recent service items include a full tune-up and timing adjustment, carb adjustment, and oil change.

We are down to the last 4 hours of my auction and I want to thank everyone for their questions and bids.
I also want to point out that replica Speedsters have been appreciating just like original Speedsters. In fact, all of the Speedsters I've sold are worth more now than what I originally sold them for, even the ones from this year! They are an investment, sort of like a "rolling 401K."
@Porsche415 Just like original Porsche Speedsters, replica Speedsters are not "weather proof and sealed around the windows." In fact, that's the reason Porsche called the tops "emergency" tops; they are there to help get you home in case you happen to get stuck in a shower.
These cars are built for top down driving and I always tell people to think of it like owning a motorcycle, which you would never take out in the rain.
The difference between a motorcycle and a Speedster is that you don't need to wear leather pants, your wife can bring along all her shoes, you can't fall off of it and you have the wind in your hair because there is NO HELMET REQUIRED!

@energyof2 Kadron carbs are Solex and the Trimill exhaust is from SoCal Imports. The seats can be purchased from Vintage Motorcars of California Inc. and the seatbelts were custom made and not available.
Looks great. Redoing a 356A now otherwise I would bid. Kadron carbs and TriMill exhaust. Have not heard of those brands. Where did you source the seat belts and the seats?
