Representing the first generation of Chevrolet’s iconic Corvette, the C1 introduced quad headlamps, a prominent front grille, and refreshed interior styling for the 1958 model year, with additional refinements following in 1959. This 1959 Corvette has undergone a complete frame-off restoration, finished in Tuxedo Black over a reupholstered red interior. Power is provided by a 283ci V8 engine with Rochester fuel injection, paired with a T-10 4-speed manual transmission. This meticulously restored example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
As part of its rotisserie restoration, this C1 was refinished in Tuxedo Black with a black soft top complemented by chrome brightwork. Details include quad headlamps, a prominent front grille assembly, split bumpers, a driver’s side mirror, and 15″ steel wheels featuring simulated knock-off spinner covers mounted with BFGoodrich Silverton whitewall tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin has been reupholstered with red vinyl. Red-painted accents along the dashboard, center stack, and three-spoke steering wheel complete the cabin, accented with chrome trim. Accessories include a multi-gauge instrumentation including a 7k-RPM tachometer mounted directly ahead of the steering wheel, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, roll-up windows, a passenger side grab handle, a Wonderbar radio, and red carpets with matching floor mats.
Beneath the hood lies a 283ci V8 engine featuring Rochester fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven through a T-10 4-speed manual transmission. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported, and some docuementation is said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Doc18015 ..thank you for the information on the C1. In my limited research there were 1594 C1 Corvettes produced for 1959 in Tuxedo Black. The Coves were offered as an option (and the color choices were either Inca Silver or Snowcrest White). I have not seen any info that specifically notes the F.I. cars had painted coves.
@Wakegolf .. unfortunately our client has not located these and I am not anticipating getting these showing up prior to the close of the auction.

Assuming you weren’t able to find any of the restoration receipts?

@flashnine1974 .. thank you for the question. As far as we know and have observed the drive train is original.
I owned on while in undergraduate studies. The body cove should be painted silver on the F.I. models , I believe. The tach is not functioning properly from your attached video. Th other area is that of the shielding as the distributor looks OK but possibly reproduction and the spark plug shields are missing(at least in the pictures I see). This is very well done and brings back many great memories. Good Luck in the auction!

@Wakegolf... thank you for your questions. We do not have a hard top for the car. Therea re several companies that you can source a top ( I recently did this for one of our clients.) It does take some time ( around 2-3 years) to get it ordered and produced. We are working with our client to get the history of the restoration. Stay tuned, we will post any and all documents as they arrive.
We are also positing a driving video later today!
Do you have any receipts or pictures of the restoration?
Is there a hardtop with the car? Thanks
