We are pleased to present this fully restored 1959 Jaguar XK150S roadster finished in Carmen Red over Biscuit leather. Reported as being one of only 888 “S” models ever produced, the XK150S was the high-performance version of Jaguar’s XK grand tourer. It carries a 250 HP 3.4L inline 6-cylinder engine mated to a desirable 4-speed Moss manual gearbox with an overdrive. Delivered new to Jaguar Cars New York, this XK was sold to its original owner in Colorado and eventually found its way to a large car collection where it was treated to a high-quality restoration during the 1990s. Certified by the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust, this rare numbers-matching XK150S roadster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.

During the 1990s, this XK is said to have been completely restored and refinished in its original shade of Carmen Red (8311LH).  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  Compared with its predecessor the XK140, the XK150 features a wider aerodynamically revised body and a one-piece curved windscreen that provides better visibility. Exterior details on this example included a chrome Jaguar hood ornament, chrome brightwork, and a commemorative rear badge that pays tribute to Jaguar's racing success at Le Mans during the 1950s.  The seller has recently fitted a new set of OEM 16” chrome wire wheels mounted with wide Firestone whitewall tires.

The interior has been recently reupholstered in Biscuit leather including the installation of a new tan convertible soft top. The cabin features low-backed bucket seats, wool carpeting, and roll-up windows. The black four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a leather-wrapped dashboard housing center-mounted Smiths instrumentation.

This Jaguar carries an original 250 HP 3.4L inline-six DOHC engine featuring triple SU carburetors, that can propel the XK150S from 0-60 MPH in approximately 7 seconds with a top speed of nearly 135 MPH. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a numbers-matching Moss 4-speed manual transmission with a desirable factory overdrive for comfortable high-speed cruising. The XK150S came factory equipped with Dunlop disc brakes at all four corners, coil springs in the front, and leaf springs in the rear. This example has also been upgraded with an electric power steering system. A Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate is provided for reference in the photo gallery along with images of the drivetrain stampings and underbody.

This sale will include a clean title and the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. A testament to Jaguars heritage and a beautiful example of a postwar British sports car, this classic XK150S is a perfect choice for any vintage motoring enthusiast.
