Finished in Champagne Yellow over a black interior, this 1962 Porsche 356B T6 Coupe was acquired by the seller out of Visalia, California, where it had been under the care of its previous owner for over 30 years. It has been repainted in its original color and was recently subjected to a complete brake service. Supported by maintenance records from the previous owner showing over two decades of service completed by the same local mechanic, this 356B is now being offered for auction out of California.

In mid-1962, the Porsche 356B received updated T6 bodywork which is characterized by a twin-grille rear decklid, a larger rear window, and an external fuel filler on the right front fender. This T6 Coupe was previously refinished in its original color of Champagne Yellow (6205) and features body-colored bumpers, chrome bumper overriders with integrated exhaust outlets, a chrome rear luggage rack, pop-out rear quarter windows, a polished driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, and chrome 15” slotted steel wheels with chrome Porsche-crested hubcaps. The seller notes the tires show production date codes from 2012 and some imperfections are present in the paint as depicted in the photo gallery. Minimal rust is present including minor bubbling around the body, although there is no rust reported on the floorboards or frame. The seller adds that all body panel gaps appear consistent and there are no signs of major accidents or structural damage.

The black interior includes leather seats with matching door panels and an upper dashboard complemented by a body-color dash fascia. Accessories include black rubber floor mats, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a wooden Porsche-crested gear knob, analog VDO gauges, a VDO quartz clock, and an aftermarket Jensen stereo. The seller notes the speedometer cable has been disconnected and needs replacement. All other gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

An air-cooled 1,600cc flat-four engine delivers up to 60 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transaxle. The seller indicates over two decades' worth of service records are included from the previous ownership and the brakes were recently serviced with new drums, shoes, and hardware.

This sale will include service records, a spare tire, and a salvage title.

The seller would like you to know: “For sale is a 1962 Porsche 356B vin: 210571. This vehicle came out of Visalia, CA, and has had the same owner for over 30 years. An older couple drove this car all around CA to numerous car festivals and Porsche events. It was finished in its original Champagne Yellow #6205 paired with beautiful black leather seats. This car would make an excellent daily driver. It is by no means a show car but rather something you can enjoy and drive around without too much worry. The previous owner has a lot of previous service records taking this 356 to the same local mechanic for over 20 years. The exterior of this car is in very decent condition, the paint does have some imperfections as you will see clearly in the video. No sign of previous accidents. The nose of the car doesn't look altered. All the gaps look great and all the doors/hoods open and close as they should. The interior is the same way but overall in great shape. This car has never sat a day outside, always in the garage, and always out of the rain. But watch the video and see the condition for yourself. We are also open 7 days a week so you are welcome to come at any time and check it out. Mechanically it runs and drives great. The ride is smooth and sporty. The motor is very healthy, sounds great, and has plenty of power. Maybe due for a service but the car can be driven as it sits. FULL BRAKE JOB just done. So new drums, hardware, shoes, etc. It needs a new speedometer cable, it was making a winding noise so I disconnected it. The lights, radio, wipers, and windows are all in good working order. There is one key that opens all the doors and turns the ignition. The tires have good thread and not cracked. This car holds a SALVAGE TITLE: The previous owner believes it was because of a theft, but it happened over 45 years ago. There are no records to prove it, that was the last owner telling the previous owner. As mentioned, no sign of major accidents or structural damage. very little rust, and minor bubbling around the body, please review the photos and videos to see. No rust on the floors or frame. I do not have a Certification of Authenticity, but I ran the block number and it appears to be date-coded correctly to the car, I believe more than likely it is the original matching numbers engine. Furthermore, it has all of its VIN number intact.”

@dougdadmac Hi-I just want you to know that I really appreciate your many, many contributions to these kinds of sales. Your watchful eye is invaluable to those of us who love 356's, have owned some, yet do not know that much about the vehicles. Thanks.

@edgy4sure I don’t believe the engine lid is off. But watch the video, look at all the photos, and come up with your own conclusions. Cars also available anytime in person also.

@chillen I have not gotten any email back from that email I was given. So again, like I initially stated this car is sold without a kardex.

Hi - good looking car. panel gaps do look pretty good but I have a question about the engine cover (hood) - upper right hand corner fitment looks a little off, is it merely the picture?

Contact David Pateman. He is my source and usually gets a Kardex in 3 working days or less. If you google " Kardex Pelican parts" you will find a link that you can contact him through.

@dougdadmac Watch the video and look at that photos. It’ll show you ever inch of the floors. And it is what it is. You get the car being advertised.
I never heard of getting a Kardex in three days?? Go ahead send me the link I’ll get it ordered right now lol.

  • dougdadmac 1 week, 2 daysago

1st time for everything. I have never seen a floor replaced while leaving just the front 2 feet or so of original floor. Easy to get a Kardex in 3 working days or less depending on where you get it.
