This 1963 Porsche 356B 1600 Super Coupe was originally delivered through Porsche Car Import Inc. of Northbrook, IL, and was recently acquired from the second owner’s family out of Long Beach, CA, who had cared for it since 1969. The interior has since been completely redone in new red vinyl while the original engine was removed, serviced, and resealed. Accompanied by a Kardex confirming the numbers matching 1600 Super motor, this 356B is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This Coupe is finished in White and rides on new painted 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car was previously refinished in White from its original Black (Schwarz, 6213) color and the seller reports the finish has been kept in good overall condition with some minor touch-ups and polishing recently performed. All rubber seals have been recently replaced and some chrome pieces were replated, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin has been completely redone with new beige square weave carpeting, headliner, and red vinyl upholstery covering the seats and upper dashboard. Accessories include chrome fittings, pop-out rear quarter windows, a locking glovebox, an analog VDO clock, and a wood-rimmed Carrera three-spoke steering wheel. All lighting and instrumentation are said to be operational.
The air-cooled 1,600cc flat-four Super engine was recently removed from the car, serviced, and resealed. Up to 75 HP is sent to the rear wheels through what is believed to be a replacement 4-speed manual gearbox. The seller notes all recent mechanical work was performed in-house and that only some records are available for reference.
This sale will include a Kardex, some documentation, and a clean title.
