For the 1964 model year, Porsche introduced what would be the final revision of its original sports car, the 356C. This 1964 Porsche 356C 1600 Coupe was acquired by the seller in 2010 and is said to have been driven very sparingly since. The seller reports that the body was refinished under previous ownership along with reupholstered seats and engine service. Accompanied by a collection of service records and a copy of its Kardex, this 356C is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 356C came factory-finished in Signal Red (6407) and is said to have been refinished in its original color during previous ownership. Details include a driver-side mirror, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, chrome brightwork, and a twin grille engine decklid. It rides on 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and a set of Michelin XZX radial tires that were mounted within the last six years. The seller reports that there are a few rust bubbles present on the body, and that surface rust is visible in the channel around the hood.
The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl with matching door panels and newer grey carpets. The seats are said to have been reupholstered under previous ownership and the headliner is believed to remain original. Details include a body-colored dashboard housing VDO instrumentation, the original AM radio, a three-spoke steering wheel, and rubber floor liners. The seller notes that the tachometer needle sporadically jumps and the odometer works intermittently.
Power comes from a replacement 1600cc flat-four engine sourced from a 356 of the same era. The rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual gearbox. Service under current ownership has been limited to routine oil and filter changes, and a collection of service records from previous owners will accompany the sale. The voltage regulator requires replacement, and the seller states that the transmission will occasionally slip out of first gear.

2. Has it been hit in the front and repaired? Pic 101/109/113 looks like the front trunk area has been reshaped and repaired. Accident?

since my ownership this car has never been in the rain(not that rains much in California) and I usually clean the car without soaking it in water
just dust it off

the tachometer "jumps" my electrician told me that the voltage regulator has some times this electrical spikes, hence the tachometer jumping

Voltage regulator is a pretty inexpensive part and easy to replace. What makes you think it’s bad? If so, why not replace to confirm prior to auction?

Also, what is the condition of the battery tray below the mat? I couldn’t see in the pictures.
Last, it looks like the passenger door card has mold on it from being wet. Has this been flooded in the past or does the window leak?

@Henpip The numbers, the stamps used, look nothing like the original numbers. There are other ways to tell but these are so off that it is obvious to people who know the cars. The car may drive very nicely so this won't matter to many buyers but a novice should be warned so as to not count it as numbers matching for valuation purposes.
