With a production run of over 60 years, the original Volkswagen Beetle presents distinctive styling and has gained recognition as one of the most culturally significant automobiles of all time. This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle comes finished in blue over a reupholstered black interior and was factory optioned with a sunroof. Said to have been maintained and refurbished by the seller for over 10 years, this example is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This Beetle was refinished in its current shade of blue and offers an optional sunroof. Chrome brightwork spans the bumpers, moldings, antenna, headlight and turn signal bezels, exterior mirrors, door handles, and “1300” rear model designation. It rides on 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, paint-matched surrounds, and new Widetrack tires. A collection of detailed images is provided in the gallery.
The cabin is said to have been completely restored and presents black upholstery contrasted by chrome trim and an exterior-color painted dashboard and doors. Details include a two-spoke black-finished steering wheel, a glove compartment, a passenger grab handle, and black carpeting below.
Power comes from an upgraded air-cooled 1,600cc flat four-cylinder engine, sending power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that this example has been maintained and repaired for over 10 years, and the undercarriage has been treated with a protective coating.
This sale will include a transferrable New York registration.

I am not sure the answer to that question but according to the previous owner any part that was not working well or it was in question was replaced or repaired.
Jennyfx35 I drove the car recently as far as 8 miles, as I mentioned before like any classic car that you buy you might have to do some small adjustments. No Fluids are leaking, No Drag in steering wheel. There are so much work done in the BUG that you only have to see it to believe it.
How were the heater channels and longitudinals when the floor was replaced?
How far has the car been driven recently? What did you mean when you mentioned that it might need a small tuning? Does it leak fluids? Any drag in steering?

@DrT The video was taken at a complete cold start and not being driven for a while. It might need to be fine tuned for that only.
@Steele1971 The 1966 came standard in the US with a 1300cc engine. The color is called Bahama Blue. Color code: L519. The original paint code sticker was right under the washer fluid reservoir and spelled "Bahamablau L 519".
Did the 66 come with a 1600cc engine, mine was 1300cc? Also the color of Sea Foam green I believe.
From your driving video it appears that the car wil not idle. No?
