PCARMARKET is proud to present for auction this 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Open Two-Seat Roadster from the esteemed Newport Car Museum. Constructed using methods derived from the D-Type sports racing car, the E-Type incorporated the later’s light and rigid monocoque chassis with a long and sleek hood hinged at the front. Often called the most beautiful production car of all-time, this Series 1 example is being offered for auction by its owner out of Portsmouth, RI.
Said to have been beautifully restored prior to the owner’s acquisition in 2015, this Series 1 is finished in Dark Blue paint with a dark blue convertible top, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. Described by the seller to be in excellent condition, some notable external features include desirable covered-headlights and 4.2 badges to the trunk lid.
The interior cabin of this E-Type Roadster features red leather seats and carpets, a black dashboard, Series 1-specific toggle switches, analog instruments and a 4-speed manual shifter. All interior surfaces are said to remain in excellent condition while all instruments are said to function properly.
This E-Type is equipped with a 4.2 L straight-six-cylinder DOHC motor with triple 2in SU carburetors mated to an all-synchromesh 4-speed transmission. Refinements over the 3.8 L model include the aforementioned motor and transmission, improved braking system with a new brake servo, electrical system converted to negative earth and an alternator in exchange for the dynamo and pre-engaged starter motor.
The sale of this E-Type will be accompanied by a jack and clean title. With undeniably good looks compounded by a restored condition and striking color combination, this E-Type is ready for exclusive concours events such as Amelia Island or rallies such as the Copperstate 1000 or Going to the Sun Rally.

@jerry991 The only numbers we could find on the engine is the number next to the spark plug in the pictures supplied and 76596/1
I see the BHT certificate posted but what about photos of the serial number on the head and the block?

@maze agreed. The blue is spectacular with the red interior in real life. It almost looks black in the photos.

I don't see any mention if it is the original engine and there doesn't appear to be any photos of the engine or head numbers. Do you a certificate from the BHT indicating colors, etc.
@MK19 it’s in excellent running condition. We just changed the oil to get the pictures taken for this site.
G911: can you comment on the running condition given the few miles I'd assume from post restoration? Will it need a bit of a mechanical refurb, tires etc. to make it roadworthy?
