Introduced in 1968, the Fiat 500L or Lusso was a high-end version of the iconic Italian microcar featuring chrome bumper guards, additional storage space, and a premium trim package. This first-year example is said to have recently undergone a complete restoration in Italy and is now being offered for auction by its importing dealer out of Florida.

In contrast to the entry-level 500F, the Fiat 500L came equipped with tubular chrome bumper guards, a unique front badge, bright window trim, and chrome roof rail moldings. This example was refinished in the current shade of white during the restoration and includes a retractable vinyl sunroof as well as a rear-mounted luggage rack with an embroidered leather bag. It rides on silver-painted 12” Barca & Vespa wheels dressed in new CST CL02 Radial tires. The seller notes a small paint chip has been touched up on the rear decklid.

The Fiat 500L came with a premium factory interior featuring a black anti-glare dashboard, a trapezoid instrument binnacle, pleated vinyl door panels, a center tunnel storage tray, carpeted floors, and a black two-spoke steering wheel. This example features new saddle brown leatherette upholstery and matching carpets. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

An air-cooled 479cc two-cylinder engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels. The seller notes that the car was mechanically restored in Italy and recently underwent a service and safety inspection in preparation of the next owner.

This sale will include a clean title and an embroidered leather bag.

@Porsche415 - my experience, due to the age, is that it can be registered as it does not need smog testing BUT I strongly suggest you check with local DMV. If anyone has experience that is watching auction please add.
