Available for auction is this 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback J-Code finished in Candy Apple Red over a red vinyl interior. Known for its starring role in the cult classic film Bullit, the 1968 Mustang GT Fastback is among the most sought-after of all vintage American muscle cars. This barn-find GT underwent a comprehensive restoration and is said to have come factory equipped with a J-code 302ci V8, air conditioning, center and overhead consoles, a fold-down rear seat, and a titling swing-away steering wheel. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona having covered just under 2k miles since the restoration.

In 1967, the Mustang received its first major redesign which included an increase in overall dimensions, concave taillights, and other small tweaks. This 1968 Fastback is said to have been a barn find and was refinished in its original Candy Apple Red with white C-stripes. Features include quarter window louvers, GT badging, quad exhaust outlets, dual hood vents, and polished rocker-panel trim. It rides on a set of chrome 15” with GT hubcaps which come dressed in Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear folding bench reupholstered in red vinyl along with matching door panels and carpeting. Features include center and overhead consoles, a swing-away tilting steering wheel, roll-up windows, and air conditioning. Updated gauges have been installed, and the seller notes that the original cluster will accompany the car.

Power comes from a J-code 302ci V8 equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor which has been upgraded with a Cobra Intake and valve covers, a mild cam, headers, and an upgraded cooling system. The seller notes that the engine shows the correct date code but is not original to the car. The rear wheels are driven by way of three-speed C4 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and a 3.00:1 rear end.

This sale will include a clean title.

@PCM - Bullitt has two T's. Can't wait to see how Spielberg's version turns out.
