Available for auction is this 1969 Jaguar XK-E Series ll Coupe finished in Willow Green over a Connolly Biscuit leather interior. One of 4,855 Jaguar fixed-head coupes made between 1968 and 1971, this second series E-Type, or XK-E, was owned by its original owner from new until 2016. It comes equipped with a dual-carbureted 4.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a synchronized 4-speed manual transmission. This XK-E underwent both cosmetic and mechanical restorations in 1993, is from a recent service, and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Missouri accompanied by extensive records and documentation.

This XK-E Series II is finished in a special-ordered Willow Green paint color and rides on its original 15” wire wheels dressed in Pirelli P400 tires. Notable features of the second series E-Type include a wraparound rear bumper, larger front indicators, removal of the glass headlight covers, repositioned tail lights, and a larger front grille. The seller describes the paint to be in good condition and notes a small chip next to the windshield washer spray nozzle. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is tastefully appointed in Connolly Biscuit leather with an accenting black dash, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, roll-up windows, a locking glove box, a fire extinguisher, and lap belts for both occupants. The seller notes that the windshield wipers are slow and that the dash panel light is inoperable, but all other gauges, electronics, and accessories work properly.

This XK-E is powered by a 4.2-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with dual SU carburetors, sending power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. Standard features include an independent coil-spring rear suspension, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and a synchromesh gearbox. The seller states the car has been recently serviced and is accompanied by maintenance invoices dating from 9/11/1969 to 3/24/2016 as well as the original service booklet with its first entry recorded on 11/14/1970 at 3,750 miles.

This Jaguar is offered with a clean title, window sticker, owner's manuals, a toolkit, spare tire, one key, and extensive documentation including the original invoice and copy of amended sales invoice with owner-requested additions, the original copy of dealer's special color order, the original certificate of ownership, and overseas dealer distribution guide.

The seller would like you to know: "In May 1969, New Jersey resident Charles F. decided he wanted a sports car. He left a deposit with his local Chevrolet dealer for a new, third-generation Corvette but a labor dispute at the factory in St. Louis, Missouri meant a delay in fulfilling his order. After waiting more than a month, he asked for his deposit back. He recalled seeing a photo of Cher ensconced in the back of an XK-E with the rear door open. Using that image as inspiration, he went to Main Auto Sales in Madison, New Jersey, and plunked down a deposit for a new Jag. He went to the Jag dealership on May 21, 1969, where he paid for the car in cash! This Jag was originally assembled in November 1968. He Owned this car till 2016."

Hello, This is Kassidy at Motoexotica. Looks like we have some nice early bids. The question about the 2+2 @DLC. That must had been a miss type on the bill. 1R25001 - 1R28786: LHD Fixed Head Coupes (3,785) The vin will show. Sorry for the confusion and good eye on that. I will enjoy helping out with any other questions of this extremely clean well cared for 1969 Jaguar.
