One of the most popular muscle cars of all time, the second-generation Chevrolet Chevelle debuted in 1968 and underwent styling revisions for the 1970 model year which gave the car its most iconic appearance. The example offered here is a 1970 Chevelle Sport Coupe finished in Green Mist over a Green cloth and vinyl interior. It was originally sold by the Lawrence & Tlapek Motor Company in Missouri and came with an optional Green vinyl roof, power steering, and a 3-speed Powerglide transmission coupled with its 307ci small-block V8 engine. Accompanied by its original sales order and Protect-O-Plate, this Chevelle is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania.

This 1970 Chevelle is finished in Green Mist (45) with an optional Green vinyl roof and rides on 15” Rally wheels dressed in new Firestone Firehawk tires. Other details include chrome bumpers and trim, black SS-style top stripes, a polished driver’s side mirror, and dual polished exhaust tailpipes. The seller states that the car retains all of its original glass and sheet metal was previously restored in its original color. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is trimmed in Green vinyl with Roma Cloth seat centers and matching carpets, headliner, and lap belts. Accessories include manual window cranks, a green two-spoke steering wheel with a black leather cover, a column-mounted gear selector, and an aftermarket Kenwood stereo. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

This Chevelle features a 307ci (5.0L) small-block V8 engine rated at 200 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque. It comes equipped with a 3-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, a 3.08 ratio rear axle, and optional power steering. The seller reports that there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include the original sales order, bill of sale, Protect-O-Plate, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Finished in green with black added SS stripes with green interior and vinyl top, this car exemplifies the age of American muscle cars.  The car is believed to have retained its original engine with just over 36,000 miles and coupled with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.  Inside it features many creature comforts and is in very nice condition.  The body, paint, and interior present very well.  The car retains its original sales order, Protect-O-Plate, and bill of sale.”

Looks like a 2 speed powerglide. The TH 350 has 3 speeds (same final drive). My ‘70 Chevelle has the 350 engine with the TH 350 transmission, but it is a Malibu (higher trim level).

I can’t get over how original the interior is.

Sorry for the incorrect information. It is a 2 speed Powerglide.

  • NineThirty (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

@Maxmotive Also in your comments you state Turbo 350 but the bill of sale says powerglide. Please clarify

  • NineThirty (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

@Maxmotive The write up states 3 speed Powerglide but a Powerglide is a 2 speed transmission and the indicator shows D & L. So is the car in fact a 2 speed or 3 speed? Thanks

@Brigante Thank you for your interest in our '70 Chevelle. On the original invoice, it is showing V8 Engine. The engine has not been replaced. We do not have the original radio. I hope that this information will help you.
    Thank you

  • Brigante (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

    Perhaps you can clarify.
I see your photo of engine bay and Distributor Cap shows 8 spark plug wires.
Original Invoice evidences 6 cyl written on invoice.
Perhaps missed something in description? Has engine been replaced?
Also, do you still have original radio?
