DT: 1970 Porsche 911S Coupe 3.2L

This 1970 911S was the subject of a complete restoration in 1991, including a full disassembly and repaint in Black and an upgraded 3.2L fuel-injected flat-six from a 1985 Carrera and upgraded 7:31 ring and pinion swap for the 915 transaxle. This Porsche was said to be originally delivered new in Southern California, optioned with rare original factory sport seats, no sunroof, and the Comfort Equipment package. Having remained under the care of the seller for the last 10 years, this 911S is now being offered at auction with 33k driven since the restoration and accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity provided by the seller based in California.

The body of this 1970 example was said to have received a complete disassembly and repaint in Black from its original color of Silver Metallic. The seller describes the exterior to remain in great condition, noting some minor rock chips on the front spoiler and hood, and reports that the chassis is free of rust. Equipment includes an aluminum decklid with aluminum sill moldings, a front spoiler, pop-out rear quarter windows, front driving lights, twin chrome side mirrors, body-colored bumpers with chrome overriders, gold 911S and Porsche badging, and 16” Fuchs wheels mounted with Yokohama AVS ES100 tires.

The black leatherette interior is equipped with factory sport seats with matching door panels and dashboard, black carpeting, and a period Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The interior remains highly original and is described by the seller to be in excellent condition. Factory options include tinted glass all around and noise suppression. The seller has additionally fitted black/red Coco mats and a Nardi flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The original engine has been replaced with a fuel-injected 3.2L flat-six sourced from a 1985 Carrera, which is said to produce 207 HP. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 915 5-speed manual gearbox, which has been upgraded with a 7:31 ratio ring and pinion. The seller reports all mechanicals to be up to date, and the vehicle runs and drives at it should.

This sale will include a clean title, a binder documenting the restoration process, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

yes the 1970 911 S Coupe, 3.2 L . is still available, still for sale. Just cruised it Pacific Coast Highway into the sunset listening to Radar Love last Saturday. Love the car, don't need to sell it. Price as advertised is now. I don't care if I sell it or not. If I re advertise it one day later, price will be much higher. It's a 911 S southern California car. Daily driver. Always starts never gave me any problems. So buy it as long it is for sale, as long the price is still so low.. It's a bargain a steal for that price. Sven

Question to seller. Are rear tire area flared to RS or SC to accomodate larger tires? Were front area drilled when fog lights were installed?

@M491 low mileage 3.2 l orig. 1985 Carrera engine was installed in 1990. Since then only 33000 miles driven. I don't think the engine has more than 70000 miles on it. Never rebuild.

the front and rear wheels are 16 inch., the rear wheels are much wider than the front ones.
I'm not sure how wide they exactly are.

  • po-porsche (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

I see you've stated the wheels are 16" diameter Fuchs. Can you confirm the widths? They look like they might be 6" front and 8" rear, but I could be wrong..
