Sold new from Vasek Polak Porsche/Audi of Hermosa Beach, California, this 1970 911S Coupe came factory finished in Signal Orange over a black leatherette interior. The car is believed to have later moved to West Virginia and eventually imported to Dubai before returning to the United States in June of 2020. It was acquired by the current owner the following September and has since been completely refinished in its original color along with a rebuild of the transmission, mechanical fuel injection system, all new suspension bushings, new houndstooth Sport Seats, and many other refurbishments. A beautifully presented 2.2L 911S, this 1970 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This Coupe was ordered in Signal Orange, a classic Porsche color first offered in the 1970 model year. Compared to the entry-level 911T, the 911S comes with gold rear lettering as well as a lighter aluminum rear decklid, aluminum deco trim on the rocker panels, and wider rubber strips on the bumpers. The car has received a complete glass-out repaint in its original color at a cost of over $25k. Front and rear bumper bars have also been recently fitted along with new Bosch H4 headlamps. The 15” Fuchs wheels come dressed in a set of Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black leather interior has been fitted with a set of new Sport Seats featuring houndstooth cloth inserts. The door panels have been replaced, the steering wheel has been rewrapped in black leather, and new Coco floormats have been added to the footwells. Several holes had been filled in after a dealer-installed A/C system was removed from the dashboard. The seller notes the heater hoses have also been recently repaired. Compared to the 911T, the 911S receives a full suite of instrumentation including oil level and oil pressure gauges.
The air-cooled 2.2L flat-six engine features mechanical fuel injection, forged pistons, and an oil cooler mounted in the right front fender. The 911S comes standard with front and rear stabilizer bars as well as aluminum front brake calipers. As much as 180 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, which is said to have been recently rebuilt along with the distributor and fuel injection system. Other recent service items include oil and filter changes, new spark plugs, and replacement of all suspension bushings.
This sale will include a clean title. For those in search of a classic long-hood Porsche 911, this beautiful 1970 911S is not to be overlooked.

I own highly original, low mileage 1969, 1970, ad 1971 cars. Both my '69 and '70 cars have the Marken Weltmeister decal where we're used to seeing it low on the passenger side of the windshield but my '71 car has the same decal placement as this car and I've seen others as well. My guess is Porsche made a change sometime in 1970. We'll probably never know the exact date.
Stunning machine. Nicely preserved. I’d like to get an official ruling on the placemat of the decal on the rear quarter window.

@bavarianrs i do see the 2 pics of headliner but they are so dark it is quite difficult to determine the condition.

Beautiful, beautiful 911S! I almost bought one of these in 1972 from Circle Porsche in Long Beach, CA. I was fresh out of college and ALWAYS loved Porsches. A 911T was $6500 which was alot of $$$$ then for a recent college grad. I looked at a Fiat 124 Sport Spider and for $3500 it had a 5 speed and was comparable. Today that Fiat sells for maybe $1500 whereas this beautiful 911S will fetch much more than that. Thanks for showing this beautiful nostalgic for me ride . . .

Yes, paintwork was done here in California by SC Restoration.
The body was in very good shape before the paintwork, very minor metalworking was done for any dings. The original paint was “dead” so a repaint brought it back to it’s original glory.
Invoices should have been uploaded.
Thanks for posting the invoices and COA. Can you please post a pic of the engine vin? According to the description, I assume you had the paint and bodywork work done stateside? If so, can you let us know who did the paint and what bodywork was done? Also, who did the interior? Additionally, who suplied the sports seats? Thanks.
