Up for auction is this 1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S rally car, finished in Bianco Saratoga with blue racing stripes over a gray interior. The Lancia Fulvia coupe was introduced in 1965 as a compact front-wheel-drive two-door and would go on to enjoy a successful motorsport career, winning the Italian Rally Championship from 1965-1972 with the exception of 1970. This 1972 example began life as a 1.3S coupe and was subsequently transformed into a rally-style race car with upgraded carburetors, a high-flow intake manifold, more aggressive camshaft, and an open exhaust system as well as lightweight PVC windows, a full roll cage, and other racing safety equipment. Accompanied by an FIA Historic Technical Passport, this authentic vintage rally car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.

This Fulvia has been completely refinished in its original color of Bianco Saratoga with a dark blue racing stripe down the center. Bolt-on fender flares have been installed, the chrome bumpers have been removed, and lightweight plastic windows have been fitted all around. Removable livery decals include a #43 racing number from the Lloret De Mar Rally in Spain. This Fulvia wears 14” Campagnolo wheels dressed in Yokohama tires, additional images are provided in the gallery.

The interior has been stripped and fitted with a pair of Motorquality racing seats with red harnesses as well as a full roll cage,  harness bar, lightweight door panels, and racing-style dashboard with central tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, and auxiliary switches mounted to the passenger side.

The engine features numerous period upgrades including dual Weber carburetors, a hotter camshaft, a Lancia-racing style air intake manifold, and a direct exhaust system. The 1.3L inline-four produces a claimed output of up to 110 HP, driving the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Upon import to the United States, this Fulvia is said to have undergone a thorough revitalization including services of the engine, transmission, and differential. The seller notes the carburetors are currently tuned for use in high altitudes.

This sale will include a collection of documentation from Italy as well as a clean title and an FIA Historic Technical Passport. A rare opportunity to own an authentic Lancia rally car, this 1972 Fulvia is not to be missed.
