Up for auction is this 1972 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus Westfalia, presented in a custom shade of white mixed with green pearl effect. Remaining under the care of the same owner since 1996, this Type 2 had been the subject of two full restorations including a refinished exterior, a refurbished brown interior and camper top, an application of rubberized protective coating to the interior and undercarriage, and the installation of a 2.0L engine with an upgraded camshaft and exhaust system in 2019. Having traveled approximately 1,500 miles since the 2.0L engine was installed, this Type 2 Westfalia is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.

This Bus was refinished in a custom color made up of a BMW pearl white with a green effect, and the seller reports some minor paint cracking underneath the passenger headlight and a larger crack on the bottom of the sliding door. The undercarriage and interior are said to have received an application of a rubberized weatherproof coating during the restoration. Exterior equipment includes a front-hinged pop-top camper, a front-mounted spare tire carrier, LED headlights and running lights, LED fog lights, two high-mounted KC LED spotlights, an external power outlet, and steel wheels that are mounted with Maxxis Buckshot Mudder tires that are said to have traveled less than 2k miles from new.

The interior has been fully refurbished with new floors, carpeting, trim panels, a headliner, and a new Westfalia camper top. The front captains-style seats are trimmed in three matching shades of brown with white piping, in addition to the rear-facing seat and fold-down rear bench. Amenities include a fold-up table, a rear bed, dual power outlets, diamond-stiched upholstery on the tent access panel, an under-seat storage compartment, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and upgraded speakers. The seller reports the left turn signal to be inoperable.

In 2019, the engine of this Type 2 was replaced with a 2.0L 4-cylinder upgraded with a larger camshaft and aftermarket exhaust system, sending power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. The total mileage is unknown, although the seller states the engine rebuild was completed within the last 1,500 miles. A new fuel tank has been installed as well.

This sale will include a clean title and a full-sized spare.
