How often does the everyman get a chance to own a truly exotic, mid-engine sports car at a still affordable price? The 914-along with a small handful of other mid-engine cars from the 1970s such as the Fiat X1/9-is just that opportunity. 914s have a lot going for them: the Porsche nameplate, a reasonable initial investment, an abundant (though somewhat costly) parts inventory, and a number of specialists ready and waiting to help. Now is the time to get in and enjoy one of these entry-level exotic cars.
1973 ushered in a new "side-shift" shift mechanism that worked much better than the early "tail-shift" transmissions.
1974 marked the debut for the 1.8-liter engine. Despite its slightly larger displacement, the 1.8-liter suffered a decrease of four horsepower from the 1.7-liter, thanks to lower-compression pistons. It was equipped with Bosch's L-Jetronic fuel-injection system, which was less durable and reliable than the D-Jetronic on the 1.7- and 2.0-liter cars.

The owner just sent over some receipt photos but the quality is too poor to post. He's an old school guy. We'll see if we can get the originals so we can reshoot and post them. He's a DIY guy and did his own oil and routine services. We do know the injectors were replaced during his ownership and the car runs very well.

We can offer live Facetime inspections or make our facility (lift and tools) available for pre-purchase inspections. All in all it's a solid car (no significant rust) with a very nice interior, the paint is better than average and it has no mechanical or electrical needs. Watch the drive video and you'll see that it runs as well as it looks.

We'll add some engine photos this weekend. And yes, it is fuel injected and they were recently serviced. The Seller is forwarding service records from the past 5-6 of ownership and we'll post them when come in.
The car runs very well as evidenced by the drive video. Between the driver and camera guy, the car had 400+ lbs of passengers and still accelerated quickly and smoothly.
@QMSSRI...please show some pictures of the engine compartment. Is it still running original Fuel Injection or switched to carbs?
