A sporting version of the BMW 02 Series, the 2002 model was created at the behest of legendary car importer Max Hoffman and was introduced to the American market in 1968 featuring a more powerful 2.0-liter M10 engine. This 1974 example has been refinished in bright orange and features an upgraded Weber carburetor, Scorpion exhaust, a Nardi steering wheel, and aftermarket Panasport wheels. Cared for by three previous owners, this classic BMW 2002 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
This 2002 is said to have been refinished in the current shade of orange in 2015. It features matching orange brake calipers, chrome body and window moldings, dual polished mirrors, dual central tailpipes, and stainless-steel bumpers with rubber trim. The car rides on a set of aftermarket 15” Panasport Z-Light wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is lined with beige carpeting and features black leatherette upholstery covering the seats, door panels, and center console. Accessories include a black dashboard with a woodgrain instrument panel, a wood-rimmed Nardi three-spoke steering wheel, a black leather Nardi shift knob, black carpet floor mats, and auxiliary gauges mounted on the center dashboard for oil pressure, temperature, and battery voltage.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated M10 inline four-cylinder engine featuring an upgraded Weber carburetor and a Scorpion exhaust. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual gearbox. The seller indicates the front brakes have been replaced and no maintenance has been deferred under the current ownership.

Owner has his own lift. Petrolhead. Takes care if his cars like White on Rice. And He drives them on country roads only. Never winter driven. Stored in perfect heated controlled environment.

Can you provide some more undercarriage pictures - particularly the factory jack points behind the front wheels? Do you know if the trunk and engine bay were painted black when the car was painted orange? Any thoughts on its original color (maybe green based on the trunk latch)?
