This classic BMW 3.0 CS 4-speed underwent a custom restoration before the current owner’s purchase in 2021 which included new paint, a refreshed interior with Scheel bucket seats, CSL-style body accessories, Alpina-style wheels, and Bilstein dampers. The 3.0-liter M30 straight-six engine also received tubular headers, dual Weber carburetors, Crane Cams, and Fireball ignition. Recipient of a second-place award at the 2021 Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance, this tastefully modified E9 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Nevada.
During the restoration, this E9 was reportedly stripped to bare metal and refinished in silver along with the replacement of the rocker panels and floor pans. It has been modified with black 3.0 CSL beltline stripes as well as a CSL-style front air dam, fender fins, and trunk lid spoiler. The car rides on 16” Alpina-style wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with photos of the bare-metal paint process.
The refurbished interior features a pair of fixed-back Scheel bucket seats in black leather with fabric centers, matching rear seats, and grey square weave carpeting. Other accessories include refinished wood trim on the dashboard and replacement door panels, a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wooden gear knob, power windows, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo.
The naturally aspirated 3.0-liter M30 inline-six features upgraded dual Weber carburetors, Crane Cams, Fireball ignition, and a wrapped tubular exhaust header. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transmission. The four-wheel disc brake system was overhauled with rebuilt calipers, new rotors, and lines during the restoration and the suspension was modified with Bilstein shocks, aftermarket sport springs, and a front strut tower brace. The seller notes the exhaust was replaced under prior ownership.
This sale will include a clean title.

@pvgt3 The compressor and complete system is still in place. The blower motor is the culprit for the lack of complete function. It will whine when powered on.
I saw the comment on "air not working" and it might be my bad eyes lol, but is the compressor and system still in place? And verifying no heat or defrost, as in hoses etc removed?

This E9 is an awesome alternative to the Porsche longhoods of the era. It’s a very handsome design and is more comfortable and torquier than the 911.
@993David The air system is non functional. The seats are still very much new and the bolstering is comfortable. Not too tight or firm. At your height there is still a good amount of head/leg room with the seat adjusted back.
@seller how well does the heat, air and defrost work? How tight are the buckets? I’m 6’3” 215 and fit in an e9 with stock seats but don’t fit well in 997 911 sport buckets due to width. My radical rxc buckets fit very nicely

Very nicely presented!
I’ve driven this car and it’s quite the throwback BMW…I’ve owned many M’s and this one evokes lots of BMW magic…reputable seller as well…
Bid in the amount of $35,000
really radical looking car. GLWS
