Refinished in purple, this 1974 example is said to have undergone an extensive rebuild and customization to include a billet front end, upgraded suspension, and a complete Lifan motor and transmission replacement with output increased to 150cc. An enduring icon in Honda's motorcycle history, this Trail 70 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
The CT-70 is characterized by a compact and lightweight frame designed for maneuverability on trails and off-road terrain. As part of an extensive restoration under previous ownership, this example had been refinished in a striking shade of purple complemented by chrome brightwork, a black racing stripe, and a new black leather seat. The seller adds that billet front-end forks and an upgraded suspension have been fitted along with a set of reproduction wheels dressed in Golden Boy tires from 2018. Power has been upgraded with a 150cc Lifan single-cylinder 4-stroke engine featuring an aluminum cylinder head, a reinforced kick starter axle, and enlarged valves & canals. The rear wheel is driven by a replacement 4-speed manual transmission.
