Available for auction is this 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser “FJ44” by ICON finished in Rocky Mountain Gray over a custom Black and Gray interior. Headed by renowned Toyota expert Jonathan Ward, the craftsmen at ICON 4X4 have been restoring and upgrading Toyota Land Cruisers to the highest standard in the industry. This FJ44 #61 was completed by ICON in 2011 and was acquired by the seller in 2015 showing 5k miles at the time. While under current ownership, the truck is said to have spent time between Montana and Connecticut and has been stored in a climate-controlled garage since acquired. Some of its notable features include a durable Teflon polyester paint, ICON design front and rear bumpers, ARB locking differentials, an ICON design roof rack, a custom insulated soft top, a 5.3L LM4 V8 mated to a custom-built 6-speed manual transmission, a billet aluminum dashboard, front and rear heat and A/C, a custom sound system, and much more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Connecticut with approximately 26k miles driven since the restoration.
This FJ44 began life as an FJ40 which had its wheelbase extended and rear doors added. The body is finished in an extremely durable Teflon polyester hybrid powder coat in Rocky Mountain Gray with an insulated removable soft top in black. The top is made from Mercedes Hartz canvas with YKK zippers and 3M plastic windows. The seller notes that the side windows show some light scratches. Features include ICON design front and rear bumpers, AMP Research power side steps, a Warn 951 winch, LED lighting with auxiliary lighting, a rear-mounted spare and gas can carrier, and an ICON roof rack with a side ladder. It rides on a set of 17” wheels dressed in Cooper Discoverer Snow Claw winter tires. The sale will include an additional set of all-season tires as well.
The cabin features three rows of seating upholstered in black leather with gray cloth inserts. Amenities include first and second-row seat heaters, a custom CNC billet aluminum powder-coated dashboard with hand-made aluminum knobs, aluminum air vents, a billet aluminum fire extinguisher, CNC aluminum pedals, a custom sound system with a Kenwood head unit linked to front and rear cameras, a JL Audio amplifier and subwoofer, a Tuffy center console, air conditioning, and a wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel. The odometer was replaced with an upgraded digital unit which currently shows just over 5k miles, and the total mileage driven since the restoration is reported to be 26k.
Power is derived from a 5.3L LM4 V8 engine equipped with a Vortec intake manifold and fuel injectors which is said to produce approximately 350 HP. The rear or all four wheels are driven by way of a custom-built 6-speed manual transmission and an Atlas 2-speed transfer case. Additional features include custom springs and remote reservoir shock absorber, ARB locking differentials, Dynatrac Dana 44 front and Dana 60 style axles, Stoptech 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brakes, more. The seller notes that all service records will accompany the truck along with the original build sheet and documentation from ICON.
This sale will include a clean title.

@zombie2hundo Good afternoon. I uploaded the service records I have with me while I am traveling. I asked PCAR to upload the "largest" invoice documenting the truck's conversion from automatic to manual transmission++. I apologize I cannot load all the service records. If you are looking for a specific service record / documentation please ask.

@Burnsie thank you there aren’t too many undercarriages photos posted. Perhaps a video or more photos
@zombie2hundo when I say the truck was driven in Montana I mean in the neighborhood and maybe 3 round trips from Bozeman to Big Sky. In the area we are salt is not used. Gravel is used to combat icy roads. Any photos posted of the underside of the truck are current photos.
Would like to see current undercarriage photos please
You mention this truck being driven during the winter in Montana which means exposure to salt on the roads right?
Hi - could I have a photo of the data plate on drivers door jamb?

Love this.

Awesome truck.
A clarification on the engine - the 5.3 in this this truck is not an LS3 engine. The 5.3 and the LS3 have many similarities, but the LS3 was a later generation engine and had higher displacement.
