Finished in Guards Red over a Black vinyl and Pepita cloth interior, this European-market 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe was acquired by the seller in 2018 and underwent a custom RS-spec engine rebuild under prior ownership with 2.8-liter cylinders, 10.5:1 compression pistons, Electromotive distributorless ignition, and more. The car also features a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox, front and rear sway bars, Bilstein shocks, Sport Seats, power windows, 16” Maxilite Fuchs wheels, a Blaupunk radio, and a dual sport exhaust. Recently serviced with fresh oil, a valve adjustment, and a new brake master cylinder, this tastefully modified 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This non-sunroof 911S Coupe was refinished in Guards Red under prior ownership and features slim European-spec bumperettes, chrome window moldings, a driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, H4 headlights, pop-out rear quarter windows, and a custom rear valence with dual center-mounted tailpipes. The car rides on Fuchs-style 7”x16” Maxilite wheels and new Michelin Pilot Sport tires were mounted within the last 6 months. The seller notes the presence of several touched-up paint chips, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The Black vinyl interior features a pair of Sport Seats with Pepita cloth centers as well as a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, a locking glovebox, a VDO quartz clock, and a newer Blaupunkt radio. The seller notes that the original carpeting and headliner remain in excellent condition and all gauges and accessories remain fully functional apart from the heater which was disabled with the installation of exhaust headers. Accompanying invoices show the replacements of various interior components and trim pieces under prior ownership.
In 2009, the car underwent an RS-spec engine rebuilt with 2.8-liter Nikasil cylinders, JE 10.5:1 pistons, Webcams 20/21 2.7L camshafts, 38mm intake ports, Electromotive coil pack ignition, and a dual sport exhaust with headers. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. The car is also equipped with front and rear sway bars and Bilstein dampers. Service completed in March 2024 included an oil change, valve adjustments, a new brake master cylinder, and an engine compression test with results ranging from 165-180 PSI for all cylinders. @witz - Normally, I avoid acronyms when discussing anything technical, as not everyone knows what they mean. But, a lot of commenters like to overload their posts with abbreviations, I guess to prove how technically astute they are? Anyway, RO stands for "repair orders", i.e. receipts for maintenance work and parts. Thanks for your further comments in answer to my questions. Every bit of information helps the potential bidder make an informed decision. I'll be following your auction until the end, but I suspect it will follow the normal course of events with all air-cooled 911's, with exceptional bidding at the close. Your car looks like a very nice one.
@wadds1971, Hi, this car is mildly / tastefully modified putting out about 210 HP. The engine was fully rebuilt with
the case sent out to Olli's machine shop to get stainless time serts, oil squirters, pop off valve, hydraulic tensioners and much more. If you look at the history of paper work you will see all the modifications. I don't no RO's stands for? Thanks for your interest.

@witz - Beautiful-looking 911S! Must be difficult to think about letting it go. Can't lose with Guards Red, and that interior, though not OEM, looks very attractive, too. You've described your car as a "hot rod 911", and I would assume the engine mods have boosted its performance somewhat. Any idea how much BHP has been added? My concern with any aftermarket mods would be overall driveability and dependability. During your ownership, have you ever experienced any issues with engine smoothness, and frequency of tune-ups? I haven't perused the RO's you've posted, but did the engine rebuild include installation of hydraulic tensioners for the cams? Pop-off valve for the airbox? Checking of all head studs for any looseness and breakage? Any signs of synchro or shift linkage wear in the transmission? Thanks for your input, and again, gorgeous car you have there!

the sport seats are of a much earlier style then the date of this car.. are they original early sport seats of reproductions?
The car never had A/C. For heat you need heater box exchangers.
How difficult to reinstall the heater? Was AC ever installed?
