Available for auction is this 1978 Chevrolet C3 Corvette Limited Edition Indy Pace Car finished in two-tone black and silver metallic over a silver leather interior. The C3 Corvette was chosen as the pace car for the 1978 Indianapolis 500, and in commemoration Chevrolet built approximately 6,500 replica pace cars for sale to the public. These limited-edition cars feature the L48 V8 engine, unique two-tone paint, Indy graphics, and a host of premium features. Accompanied by National Corvette Restorers Society documentation showing a score of 97.5, this Corvette is said to have been acquired out of a large private collection and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania, showing approximately 4,600 miles on the odometer.
The Indy Pace Car edition features additional front and rear spoilers along with a special two-tone black and silver metallic paint scheme including red pinstriping and Indianapolis 500 pace car graphics. This example was refinished in the late 1990s and is said to have recently undergone professional paint correction. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a glass T-top roof, specialized badging, sport side mirrors, and 15″ alloy wheels dressed in a set of Goodyear GT Radial tires from 2019.
As much as 195 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission paired with an L48 V8 engine. The seller notes this Corvette has been serviced exclusively by GM Technicians at Chevrolet dealers since 2015 and confirms there are no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a clean title and the original window sticker along with a collection of awards and accolades from over the years.

@davethewave911 Thank you for the questions. Everything on this car functions correctly. As stated previously it was owned by a Long Term Chevrolet Dealer here in Western PA, and he always had it serviced at his dealership. We have some service records from over the past five years showing what he has done. The car was scored and judged by NCRS at 97.5/100, then the power antenna was repaired, and the battery tie down was done to make it all correct. Thank you.

Good Morning PCARMARKET Community. We are very excited to present to you this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car. This car is out of a collection here in western PA from a long time Performance Chevrolet Dealer. He has retired, and he was liquidating some of his collection. We have had numerous Pace Cars over the years, but this car is hands down the nicest one we ever got the chance to buy. NCRS Sheets are including with the car showing a score of 97.5/100, two items that were since address after being judged was the power antenna inop, now working, and the incorrect battery hold down, now also fixed. If you are looking for the right Pace Car, that has been maintained and out of a great collection, this is the car.
