This 1979 Porsche 911SC Coupe has undergone a meticulous restoration, featuring a refinish in the extremely rare shade of Leaf Green over a black leather interior with houndstooth inserts. The engine has been rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.2-liter displacement, while the transmission was serviced and fitted with new clutch components. Notable enhancements include Cibie auxiliary lights, yellow headlights, rear decklid louvers, Group IV Campagnolo-style wheels, Recaro Sport Seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a wooden shift knob, RS-style door pulls, and much more. This tastefully appointed 911SC is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.

The exterior was stripped to bare metal and treated to a professional glass-out refinish in Leaf (Bush) Green, a Porsche shade offered between 1966 and 1973. Blue and gold Porsche lettering have been added to each side, along with European-style bumper trim, yellow headlights, Cibie hood-mounted auxiliary lights, and rear decklid louvers. Additionally, the lower front valance has been modified to remove the original front fog lights, and gold-finished 16” Group IV Campagnolo-style wheels have been mounted with like-new Continental tires from 2021. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin has been redone with new black leather upholstery, houndstooth cloth seat centers, and grey square-weave carpeting. Accessories include Recaro Sport Seats, green RS-style door pulls, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a Porsche 917-style shift knob, and an Element fire extinguisher. The seller adds that the gauges have been refurbished, and the odometer was set to zero upon the restoration.

The air-cooled flat-six engine was fully disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt to a 3.2-liter displacement with new timing chains, guides, camshaft seals, piston rings, and a high-performance oil pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle, which was removed, serviced, and fitted with new clutch components. The suspension was refreshed with new shock absorbers, bushings, and mounts, while the brake system was updated with new calipers, rotors, pads, and lines. The fuel system restoration included a new tank, pump, and lines. Additional work involved replacing all seals, weather stripping, and window trims, with metal components powder-coated for enhanced durability. The seller verifies the engine and transmission retain their matching numbers.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This 1979 Porsche 911 SC is the ultimate blend of classic charm and modern performance. The original 3.0L engine has been upgraded to a powerful bored-out 3.2L, delivering enhanced performance while staying true to its heritage. Every detail of this car has been meticulously restored, from the fully rebuilt engine and transmission to the upgraded suspension and brakes. The exterior dazzles in a freshly refinished Leaf Green, complemented by European bumper trim, a rear louver deck lid, and iconic CIBIE center-mounted driving lights with yellow European headlights. Inside, the interior has been completely reupholstered and refreshed to perfection, with every seal, trim, and component replaced or restored. This turn-key, show-quality 911 SC is ready to drive and enjoy, offering bidders a rare opportunity to own an iconic Porsche that’s been upgraded and perfected in every way.”

Beautiful car. Would it be possible to post more pictures of the passenger side door gap (trailing edge) and the driver's side bonnet gap?

  • gaswerksgarage (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

@Wuliangye We increased the bore from 95mm to 98mm, effectively upgrading the engine from a 3.0L to a 3.2L. While the vehicle was not dyno tested, we estimate a 10-15% increase in power over stock. The decision to retain the 3.0L intake was deliberate, as switching to a 3.2L intake would require converting to an electronic fuel injection system, which we chose to avoid to preserve the car's classic character. Additionally, the original 3.0L intake supports the added power perfectly, ensuring seamless performance and reliability with the upgraded engine.

@palien There is some waviness in both door panels, this allows for flexibility of the fabric during due to temperature fluctuations. Happy to provide some more shots of the rear cabin. We will send our photographer up to our climate-controlled warehouse this afternoon to grab some more shots. Happy Bidding!

  • palien (registered bidder) 1 week, 5 daysago

Can you post pictures of the rear of the cabin. lots up front but nothing for the rear area.
Also the drivers door panel - in some shots there is lots of warping/waviness of the skin cloth, in others none? what gives?

  • Wuliangye (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

Do you have any additional information on the 3.0 liter built to a 3.2? It would be helpful to recognize the performance differential between the two, considering you utilized the 3.0 liter intake.
