Believed to be a lifelong California car, this 1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe was acquired from its longtime previous owner out of Sausalito about a year ago. The car comes finished in Guards Red and features several tasteful upgrades and modifications including SSI headers, a Dansk muffler, WEVO shifter, aluminum Rennline accessories, and custom three-piece wheels. Accompanied by maintenance records including the invoice for a previous engine rebuild, this 911SC shows approximately 179k miles on the odometer and is now being offered by its seller out of California.
This 911SC comes finished in Guards Red and sports matching headlight rings, front fog lights, and an antenna mounted to the passenger-side fender. The car rides on a set of custom Litespeed three-piece wheels dressed in new Toyo Proxes tires. The exterior was recently polished and ceramic-coated, and the seller notes a burn in the paint near the driver-side sunroof as well as a touched-up scratch ahead of the passenger-side headlight. The Beige/Brown partial leather interior has been fitted with a pair of newer black seats as well as an upgraded WEVO shifter and a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel. The footwells are lined with aluminum Rennline pedals, floorboards, and track mats. A vintage Alpine head unit is paired with upgraded aftermarket speakers. Some cracks are shown on the dashboard and the seller reports a brake warning icon is illuminated.
Power is sent to the rear wheels by an air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine is said to have been previously rebuilt and is upgraded with SSI headers and a Dansk sport muffler. Supporting maintenance records are said to accompany the sale.

@danbarlow Hey Dan, Love the 911! Random question but whats the birthday for this ? Sticker tag on the inner driver door will show a month and year. No bearing on the car just keep telling myself that when I find that 7/81 I will have to do whatever I can to try and get one. Can you guess when I was born? lol

@Koolbilly123 Greetings! That video was taken at about 5:30AM in Northern California, where it is about 45 degrees in the early hours. If the car sits for a while there will be a little initial smoke upon startup that goes away promptly. The car does burn oil, but I have been told most do. Hope this helps!

@ninpo4me I hear they do great work! If you were to have this engine work done today, though, I think it would be substantially more expensive! The car does have AC, but it is not functioning. I hear it is pretty common amongst these cars for it to not function.
Does this car have AC and is it functional?
BTW RennTech guys in Auburn CA are great guys! I had my cars worked on there in the past!
@ninpo4me Per the documentation I have, that is correct. The work was done in 2010 at 158,000 miles. The car has lived a quiet life for the last 12 years!

Does the heat still work with the upgraded header set up?
Dans right, the tach turned that way is derived from racing cars. It is turned so that at the shift point the needle is pointing straight up. Easier to read that way.
@FerdinandP Hey Ferdinand,
From what everyone tells me (I am a first time Porsche owner), the tach is turned this way in racing to make the redline easier to see. I'd say 3/4 of the air-cooled 911's at Marin County C&C have done the same with theirs. Hope this helps!
