We are pleased to offer this 1982 Porsche 928 finished in Platinum Metallic over a Chocolate leather interior. One of the most iconic grand touring cars of all time, this 928 is powered by a robust 4.5 L V8 paired with an accommodating 4-speed automatic transaxle.  Reported to have been purchased by its second and current owner from a Porsche dealership in the 1980s, this 928 has been kept in excellent, highly original condition with approximately 93k miles currently showing on the odometer.  With a lifetime of proper upkeep including a timing belt service carried out within the last 2k miles, this 928 is now being offered in superb driving order by its seller in New Jersey, accompanied by original books and tools, extensive service records, an original window sticker, extra wheels, a car cover, and a clean title.

The Platinum Metallic finish is reported to be in outstanding original condition with only slight road-going wear and a small touched-up imperfection behind one of the rear windows (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Optional body side moldings are equipped and this 928 rides on factory 16” Phone Dial wheels that have been professionally refinished and dressed in Michelin tires.  An additional set of 16” slotted wheels will also be included in the sale.

Inside, the Chocolate leather upholstered cabin is reported to be in great shape including the electrically operated full leather Sport Seats.  An aftermarket radio has been installed, the air conditioning has been updated to use R134, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

The 4.5L V8 produces 236 hp and 280 lb.-ft of torque, which is transferred to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transaxle.  Within the last 2 years, the brakes have been upgraded with slotted rotors and new pads, new shocks were installed, and various seals and gaskets were replaced.  All belts including the timing belt were also replaced within the last 2k miles and this 928 is said to drive beautifully with an extensive collection of service records showing proper routine maintenance.

Included in the sale of this Porsche 928 are a set of two keys, a clean title, the original manuals and window sticker, a full toolkit, an extra set of slotted wheels, a car cover, front bra, service records, and a clean title.

Beautiful color. Do you have additional pictures to show the lower front end valance area as well as the underside? Are all of the tires dated 1992?
Is the seller is confirming all of the mechanicals are in proper working condition with smooth transmission shifts as well as all dash gauges function and all accessories are in working condition, including A/C blows frigid cold, heater / defrost, electric seat controls, sun roof and windows move up and down (back and forth) without "additional manual" assistance, front and rear wipers, all interior and exterior lighting (all brake lights)
Also, is there a reason the steering wheel is upside-down?

Do you have any pictures of the under carriage?

  • 928Guy (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

No repaint. Leather meticulously cared for as was paint and trim even headlight washers work.

  • ZGGS (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

This 928 has had some very careful owners. What impresses me most is the full leather interior with minimal shrinkage and the black window trim with almost no fading. Was it repainted? The colors are rare and spectacular. 928 are wonderful GT cars and this one checks all the boxes (except maybe the tranny box for some). Hard to find them like this.

Replied to bidder: no leaks. Everything works. No paintwork. Never in inclement weather.

  • 928Guy (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Gtr: no leaks. Everything works. No paintwork. I maintained meticulously. Never in rain/snow.

  • gtrmaniac (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Great color combo! Any issues? Oil leaks? All instruments and brake lights function properly? Ever had any paintwork? Classic Porsche and glad to see an automatic as that is what I prefer. Beauty!

Hello bidders. This is a beautiful car in every way. A true touring car with v8 power and tons of torque. You will be amazed by its suspension. Turns heads everywhere and the sound is great too!
