1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 5-speed

Up for auction is this gorgeous 1984 Porsche 911 Cabriolet presented in Guards Red over a tan leather interior.  Originally registered in New Mexico, this 911 has spent most of its life in California where it has been properly maintained and carefully looked after.  Accompanied by original books and accessories, this 1984 example is now being offered for auction in excellent driver’s-condition showing approximately 152k miles on the odometer.

The iconic Guards Red finish remains nicely presented with a blemish on the hood and signs of wear on the rear decklid.  A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery.  Noteworthy features include a replacement black convertible top and factory 16” Fuchs wheels mounted with tires exhibiting ample tread life.

Inside, this 911’s traditional cockpit is upholstered in tan leather with dark brown accenting.  The dashboard and front seats have been professionally refinished by Autobahn Interiors and the windshield seal has been replaced as well.  An aftermarket radio and door speakers have also been installed to provide the driver with optimal sound quality.  Factory features include air conditioning and desirable leather “tombstone” sport seats.  Aside from the dash clock and oil level, all other gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional.

This 911 carries an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine rated at 207 HP and 192 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a smooth-shifting 915 5-speed manual gearbox making for an unadulterated driving experience.  Notable recent service items include new engine belts, shifter bushings, fluids and filters.  The seller confirms that this vehicle meets California emissions standards and notes that minor oil dripping has been known to occur. This 911 is stated to be in excellent running order, just waiting to be enjoyed.

The sale of this 911 will include a set of three keys, original books and accessories, a spare tire, toolkit, some service records and a clear title.  If you have been in the market for a solid air-cooled Cabriolet, this stunning 1984 example makes an excellent choice.

I’ll get a few more and upload right after this. The bearings, pads and shift bushings were all done by mmyself 1000 miles ago or so. The most recent service was by an Indy mechanic here in SD that I don’t have info on to confirm who it was by previous owner.
