Next up for auction is this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Pewter Metallic over a Navy leather interior.  A widebody conversion with DP Motorsport bumpers was completed in 2018 during which the exterior was refinished, and the engine was overhauled and fitted with an upgraded exhaust and an Electromotive TECgt fuel management system. Showing just 28,614 miles on the odometer, this 911 is now being offered at auction by the seller based in Arizona.

The exterior is finished in Pewter Metallic (L956) with a Navy convertible soft top and tonneau cover. In 2018, this car received a full repaint in its factory color, along with the addition of widened fender flares, DP Motorsport front and rear bumpers, Slant Nose style rear fender vents, a custom quad-tipped exhaust system, and extended side skirts. The seller reports a small dent in the hood, a 2-inch wide paint chip in the front bumper, and a small chip on the passenger side front fender, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Aftermarket three-piece wheels are mounted with Michelin tires showing date codes from 2018.

The interior is upholstered in Navy leather, with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. The interior is described to remain in excellent condition, in addition to the convertible top. Amenities include an aftermarket Alpine CDA-9887 head unit, full power accessories, and an optional factory-equipped 930 Turbo steering wheel. The seller confirms all instrumentation and accessories to be in proper working order.

This Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine that sends up to 207 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 915 manual transmission. The suspension was upgraded 911 Turbo “green” Bilstein strut assemblies, in addition to optional 911 Turbo brakes finished in black with white Porsche script which provide ample stopping power. When the widebody conversion was done in 2018, the entire engine was said to be overhauled, and an Electromotive TECgt fuel management system was installed along with a custom quad-tipped exhaust system. No service records are available, but the seller reports that there is no outstanding maintenance items at this time and the car runs and drives without any issues.

This sale will inclue 2 sets of keys, owner’s books, and a car cover.

@Breakthru 1975 and older are exempted. But no check engine light or warning lights of kind for that matter.. California does has one of the largest Porsche community. I’m sure you can have it out in California.

  • Breakthru 2 yearsago

Unfortunately it's 1975 and older. Darn.

Dynamicmotorgroup (seller)- Hello, you’ve mentioned “a small dent in the hood, a 2-inch wide paint chip in the front bumper, and a small chip on the passenger side front fender”. Could you provide a closeup picture of these imperfections, and is this a steel or fiberglass conversion?

@Breakthru definitely check with CA DMV to verify but I believe 25 year old vehicles with historic license plates are exempted from Smog testing.

Any idea if this would pass CA smog?

  • Dynamicmotorgroup (seller) 2 yearsago

@oceangreen59 yes it does have matching numbers engine and transmission. It’s a 28k mile Porsche. We bought it based on condition, low miles and the over all look and presentation. It’s a quality build. 10 out of 10 times you can see a build by picture or in person and can tell if it’s been done correctly. Getting the stance correct is the most difficult part of a Widebody conversion and this one definitely has one best stance.

  • V12308911 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Any power upgrades done to the motor?

  • Dynamicmotorgroup (seller) 2 yearsago

@Carguy4fun engine out service on these Porsches are quite necessary, Older parts do tend to wear over time regardless of miles..

  • Carguy4fun (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Why would the owner rebuild an engine with only 28000 miles. Any records available for the work performed

@BarryLe Hello Barry and thank you for expressing interest in our stunning 84 Cab. We bought the vehicle based on our Visual inspection, Porsche of North America records and Carfax of course. Do to privacy of previous ownership we were not able to accumulate additional info. It is a very a beautiful build and an amazing stance. It is a very quality build cab based on our inspection. Dynamicmotorgroup: Did the current owner do the body conversion and the engine work? If so, where are the records? This is an extremely nice car but the lack of records is certainly holding me back from bidding.

  • Dynamicmotorgroup (seller) 2 yearsago

  • MikeC (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

  • Derege (registered bidder) 2 yearsago
