Available for auction is this 1984 Porsche 930 Turbo slant-nose conversion finished in Guards Red. Ordered new by North Houston Porsche in 1984, the steel nose conversion was done prior to 1998 and gives the car an unmistakable look. It features a 3.3L air-cooled flat-six engine with an upgraded K27 turbocharger and Kokeln intercooler that sends power through a 4-speed manual transmission. Having been in a private collection for the past 33 years, this 930 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas showing approximately 40k miles on the odometer.

This Turbo sports a steel Slant Nose body conversion, which includes modified front and rear fenders along with boxed rockers. It was repainted in 2007 in the original factory color of Guards Red and rides on factory 16” Fuchs wheels. The wheels were recently refinished in black with accenting red lips and are dressed in new Nitto tires. Additionally, the side and rear windows are currently tinted. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior is upholstered in Black and Beige leather, and its only modification is an aftermarket Kenwood KDC-115S stereo (the original stereo is included in the sale). Factory options include a heated windshield, sunroof, and A/C. The seller notes the wipers work intermittently but otherwise notes all gauges, electronics, and accessories work properly. Additionally, a slight draw on the battery is noted, which may be from the aftermarket stereo. The original stereo is included in the sale.

This 930 is equipped with a 3.3L turbocharged air-cooled flat-six engine that sends power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. The 930 Turbo produced approximately 300 HP from the factory and was capable of 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds. This example features an upgraded K27 turbocharger and Kokeln intercooler, which help increase engine performance (the original intercooler is included in the sale). The seller notes a fluid service was recently completed and that they have service records dating back to 2016.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manual (shows import date, option sticker, and is stamped), toolkit, spare tire, some documentation, and two sets of keys.

Hello all, I just wanted everyone to be aware that this is Not a base 930 That has a 930 Turbo Engine in it. This is a Factory 930 Turbo with a steel slant nose conversion that was done right and has extremely low miles. Worth So much more than current bid and will come with a fresh annual service if reserve is met.

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Mrosilio Car is currently in the middle of a annual service. So unfortunately it will come with a fresh service but I cannot get a video until Monday.
I will personally guarantee it drives and shifts as it should, I have personally driven it.

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@fcort7 Any chance we can get a quick driving video going through all the gears as well?
Apologies for the last minute request, just saw the auction today and look through all the videos and didn't see any driving in there.

    Thanks

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Mrosilio No smoke whatsoever. We did not see any oil leaks. May have some minor seepage but not visible. The last MAJOR service was in 2018 and I will get you better shots in the next hour.

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@fcort7 Appreciate the prompt response. Kind of hard to zoom in and see what work was done in 2018. Would you be able to summarize?

    Any smoke or oil leaks?

    Thanks

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Mrosilio Yes sir. It has been in a climate storage garage covered since then. Ready for the road again in 2018

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

Car fax shows nearly 40k miles in 1997. So the car sat for 25 years?

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

Hello all - This is a very clean 930 Turbo with a steel and correct slant nose conversion. Let me know if anyone has further questions.
Unfortunately the weather in Dallas has been awful or I would send more photos. It is a pretty complete car and presents as a very nice car.

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Jcolt75 The upper one is a reflection - nothing there. The lower is a chip that was touched up. The photo looks way worst than it actually is. It is the size of a marker tip

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Jcolt75 AC Hello blows warm - this should be stated in our ad.

  • Jcolt75 (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

    @PMolin great questions
Wheels were done last week. Photos taken last Monday. Before wheels.
Rear window tint was peeling. That has been removed.
I will send photos tomorrow if windows up
Paint is very nice. May have a few Rick chips but not noticeable.
Paint is shinny as well. No dull spots.

  • PMolin (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

    Great looking car!
On picture 32, it looks like the tinted windows are peeling. Can you comment please.
And do you have pictures of the car with the windows up?
Also, you mentioned that the wheels have been refinished recently. Should I understand that the photos were taken before?
Are there any paint imperfections worthy of mention?
Thank you for your answers and good luck with the auction.

@eracer46 hello the owner does not know
If the exhaust is original or not.
It was there in 1988 when he bought the car.
Sorry I don’t have more details.
    As far as other modifications.
The turbo, the intercooler and the radio which the factory radio and factory intercooler will be included.

  • eracer46 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Hi. 82turboruf asked a good question regarding when and who replaced the factory exhaust. Please share those details. If prior to the current ownership, were any other significant modifications performed? Thanks.

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@82turboruf hello our client made 2 modifications to the car. 1 is the turbo and the other is the intercooler. .the original will be included with the sale.
I have more photos coming Monday.

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@DrZZZ hello our client purchased the car from the original owner in 1988. The conversion was done.
He was told the slant nose was done by Porsche North Houston but has no record of it. He has owned this car for 34 years. There is no Porsche certificate either but we have the original owners manual which shows the import date and option sticker.
It has been in climate storage since he has owned it.
We just refinished the wheels and I’ll be posting photos shortly.

  • DrZZZ (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Beautiful car!

I was wondering who performed the flachbau conversion, and if you have the documentation? Or it is just known to have been completed between 1984 and 1998?

You also mentioned Porsche North Houston - has their Classic division assessed or worked on the car? If not, does the vehicle/owner have a Porsche classic technical certificate?

Nice turbo. Who made the 4-pipe exhaust? Is that factory? Also how much boost and does it have a variable knob or 1 bar wastegate spring?

  • fcort7 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Inspections welcome. We are in the North Dallas area
