Finished in Guards Red over a Black interior, this 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe was purchased by the seller, its second owner, in 1990. It features a rebuilt flat-six engine featuring an upgraded 3.4-liter displacement with 993 DRC SuperSport camshafts, LN Engineering Nickies cylinders, JE pistons, a custom Steve Wong performance chip, and a Billy Boat dual exhaust system. The car has also been fitted with Bilstein suspension, Boxster brakes, MOMO steering wheel, OMP seatbelts, reclining OMP bucket seats, a bolt-in roll bar, a Wevo shifter, Rennline pedals, and 16” Braid forged alloy wheels. Showing approximately 111k miles on the odometer, this 911 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner in Florida.

This Carrera Coupe is finished in Guards Red and features a Turbo-style front spoiler, integrated front fog light, a Whale Tail rear spoiler, and black stone guard decals. Other equipment includes headlamp washers, polished dual exhaust outlets, Porsche crest fender decals, and 16” Braid Fuchs-style forged alloy wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 9” wide out back. The car rides on Proxes R888 tires from 2023 and the seller states the roof has been refinished. The exterior is said to be in excellent overall condition with consistent body panel gaps and the car has been kept in a climate-controlled garage most of its life. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black interior has been fitted with a bolt-in roll bar, reclining OMP bucket seats, red OMP 4-point seatbelts, a WEVO shifter, a three-point MOMO steering wheel, and Rennline pedal covers. Other accessories include black carpet floor mats with red Carrera script, power windows, a central locking system, a Quartz clock, and a Kenwood radio paired with aftermarket speakers. The air conditioning system has been removed for weight savings, although all other accessories are said to be fully functional. The owner adds that the interior is in excellent condition and many original parts are included in the sale.

Originally displacing 3.2 liters, the air-cooled flat-six engine was rebuilt in 2011 at 89k miles to 3.4-liter specifications including all new bearings and seals, a rebuilt oil pump, rebuilt heads, new valves, 993 DRC SuperSport camshafts, LN Engineering Nickies cylinders, JE 10.5:1 pistons, a custom Steve Wong performance chip, and a Billy Boat tri-flow dual exhaust system. An estimated output of 285 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transmission. Upgraded Bilstein suspension components have been installed along with a Boxster big brake kit. The seller indicates an extensive collection of invoices and records is available dating almost as far back as new.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Lovingly owned and regrettably sold this is an excellent driver's car.  Everything functions perfectly and drives with a bit more kick than the usual Carrera with a sporting feel to its chassis. It has Bilstein Sport suspension and a Boxster brake kit.”

Is there a lot of engine clatter, or just the sound system?

  • Morefun (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

Just returned from inspecting and riding in the car. Although the car does not fit my needs at this time, somebody is going to get a very good G-body 911. Cosmetically it is outstanding for its age, the extensive amount of receipts show that it has been maintained with an open checkbook, the engine, as built, is very strong for a 3.2 and the 915 gearbox was crisp and smooth. My thanks to the seller (representing the car) for his time.

  • marcz (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@outofexile not as it presently sits.

  • marcz (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

  • marcz (seller) 3 weeks, 5 daysago

@Morefun it retains its original torsion bars and sway bars. The tie rods were upgraded with Lemforder 930 type along with the Bilsteins. The differential is the non-limited slip type.

  • Morefun (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 5 daysago

A good looking 911! Noted the Bilstein shocks. Have the T-bars and swaybars been upgraded? Didn’t see a COA. Does the car have an OEM limited slip differential?

ATTENTION BIDDERS, THE DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN REVISED AS THE SELLER MISTAKENLY PROVIDED SOME INCORRECT INFORMATION. PLEASE RE-READ TO ENSURE YOU ARE GETTING THE CORRECT INFORMATION. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

  • marcz (seller) 4 weeksago

@josehbraga05 I'm still waiting for the powers that be to post the engine rebuild receipts but in the meantime Series 9 in DeLand Florida did the work, which included LN Engineering Nickies cylinders, JE pistons, 993 Super Sport cams, full head rebuild, bearings, etc.

  • josehbraga05 (registered bidder) 4 weeksago

Hello, what repair shop has performed the engine rebuild?

  • marcz (seller) 4 weeksago

To all, my apologies for the confusion and quite honestly not quite as prepared as I would have liked, grrr...... The owner clarified this weekend that what was lost was the original window sticker, and original take-off parts such as steering wheel, seats, exhaust, etc. of what you see. We do have a comprehensive receipts folder including the engine rebuild receipt - which will be posted shortly!! Unfortunately, the engine rebuild receipt doesn't indicate mileage or date. But looking at the dates of prior receipts and their locations, it's apparent the engine was rebuilt at approximately 95-98k miles.

So that everyone can know its current health, we did a compression check this weekend:
    #1 = 185psi
    #2 = 180psi
    #3 = 190psi
    #4 = 185psi
    #5 = 190psi
    #6 = 190psi

Also please note that we recently serviced the car, including valve adjustment (receipt in the gallery)

  • Fastbadger (registered bidder) 4 weeksago

Dio you have mileage roughly and the garage that did the work on the engine? Clean car

  • TheVintageCarGuy 4 weeks, 1 dayago

@marcz Listing states that "Originally displacing 3.2 liters, the air-cooled flat-six engine is said to have been rebuilt to 3.4-liter specifications including all new bearings and seals, a rebuilt oil pump, rebuilt heads, new valves, 964 camshafts, an aftermarket air intake, and a Fabspeed exhaust system." OK, but when, as in how many years ago? Do you have any documentation to prove that? Without it, and with all due respect, it's just you flapping your gums and I can't believe PCar would allow it to be stated. Without it any potential bidder has no choice but to treat this as though none of that work was ever done. I'm afraid that's the price to pay for sloppy record keeping of such important information. Glwta

  • Sbani123 (registered bidder) 4 weeks, 1 dayago

Too bad re build documentation is lost. Can you supply any more information about the engine? Compression, ever dynoed, who did rebuild and where, or anything else? Thanks.

  • marcz (seller) 1 monthago

Hello and thank you for looking at this great 911. I'm very excited to represent the car for the owner and as the most recent shop to service the vehicle, I can speak to its attributes and functionality, as well as answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to ask!

Good luck! This is an honest car, ready for the next enthusiast.
