The replacement for the legendary E9 coupe, the E24 was the first generation of BMW’s 6-series and was produced from 1976 through 1989. This 1986 BMW E24 635csi is finished in Black over a matching leather interior. Factory equipment includes a 5-speed manual transmission paired to its M30 inline-six-cylinder engine, a sunroof, a front spoiler, fog lights, metric “Bottlecap” alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, and more. Upon acquisition in 2022 from a long-time owner of 20 years, this example was fitted with new Michelin TRX tires and a catback exhaust system. It is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts while showing just over 128k miles on its odometer.
This example comes finished in Black. Details include a front splitter with integrated fog lamps, body-side moldings, dual exhaust outlets, chrome trim, and a set of 390mm metric “Bottlecap” wheels. It rides on a set of Michelin TRX tires from 2022. Minor signs of road wear are noted including a small blemish on the trunk lid, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents front sport seats upholstered in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include power-adjustable seats, air conditioning, an AM/FM cassette stereo, power windows and door locks, and an M-Tech II steering wheel. The cabin shows wear consistent with age and the seller confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a 3.4-liter M30 inline-six-cylinder engine which drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Performance features include 4-wheel disc brakes and a front double-linked wishbone suspension. The seller notes that the car was driven sparingly under previous ownership and was treated to annual fluid changes. The seller also adds that a stainless catback exhaust system has been installed and the power steering pump has been replaced since May 2022.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and two keys.
