Up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa finished in Guards Red over a black interior. Having resided in Hawaii since at least 1992, this Targa is said to have been under the care of the seller’s father for over 20 years before the seller inherited the car about 4 years ago. It is said to have been maintained in very good overall condition including routine service from a local specialist. Featuring a 3.2 L flat-six engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox, this classic air-cooled Targa is now being offered by its seller in Hawaii while showing approximately 76k miles on the odometer.
The traditional Guards Red finish is noted to be in great shape except for a few minor cosmetic imperfections as depicted in the photo gallery. The paint is believed to be largely original aside from the passenger rear quarter panel which is suspected to have been refinished about 15 years ago following minor cosmetic damage. In addition to its signature black Targa bar and wraparound glass rear window, this example features front fog lights, headlamp washers, and iconic Fuchs wheels.
Inside, the black interior is said to have been kept in excellent condition. An aftermarket Kenwood radio has been installed along with upgraded Kenwood rear shelf speakers. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This Carrera is powered by an air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine that is capable of sending 217 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. An assortment of service records is said to be included and the seller reports that proper routine maintenance has been addressed by a local specialist. This Targa is said to be in strong running order with a recent new battery and oil change; a fresh oil service will also be carried out prior to sale at the seller’s expense.

@clambrecht PPI just completed by Kona European Autoworks - All green, car is in great condition and requires no repairs. Mechanic indicated for two minor oil weeps, one on passenger side valve cover, and driver side timing cover. He said not worth worrying about or replacing, as they are not leaking, just showing minor weep spots. He sees the exact same spots on 9/10 high-condition Carreras. Per some potential buyer's request, the engine numbers match.
@tampagarage I will check on documentation of the repair, however it was a very long time ago. My father has since passed away, so I am unable to ask about it. I do know that it was a minor incident bumping into something in our own driveway, and only minor repairs/ touch up painting was required. No corrosion on the car, all paint is in great condition. I will upload undercarriage pictures shortly, along with a video walking around the car. I do apologize for the confusion on the mileage- I just confirmed the most recent odometer reading is 76,780, and the current reading is within 50 miles of that. I will share a picture of the odometer shortly as well. Again I apologize for that, a genuine dyslexia mistake when creating the listing. I have asked the PCARMARKET team to adjust the posting. Last major service was in Oct. 2018, but regular services and oil changes annually. The car has had no issues requiring a major service.

Hi Seller- Just found Pcar and just found your 86 Carrera. I am interested but have questions. The Autocheck shows 76k miles and an accident. Your ad refers to paintwork on 4th quarter, do you have documentation showing the extent and cost of the repair? What was the date of the incident to see if to coincides with the Autocheck report? Does the a/c work? Any corrosion on the car? Undercarriage pics would be great. What was the most recent major service?

@BLUE190 I'm not sure where carfax is getting that number. All I know is the odometer, which is around 67k. I will ask my mechanic how/why carfax would show a higher number. I will try to get some of those pictures and videos uploaded today
