As the range-topping version of the R107 SL-Class Roadster, the 560SL was equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and a 5.6L M117 V8 producing 227 HP mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This 1987 example is finished in Arctic White over a Medium Red leather interior, and was reportedly acquired by the seller’s family in 2010. Recent service includes a new timing chain, a new soft top, reupholstered seats, and new air conditioning system components. Now showing approximately 86k miles on the odometer, this 560SL is being offered at auction by its seller out of New Jersey.

The exterior is finished in Arctic White (147U) with a replacement black convertible soft top and a paint-matched removable hardtop. Equipment includes quad headlamps, fog lights, US-spec chromed impact bumpers, chrome trim, heated side mirrors, a power-adjustable driver’s side mirror, ribbed rocker panels, a trunk-mounted third brake light, and a power antenna. The CARFAX report shows a minor accident that occurred in 1998, no further information is provided, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a complete CARFAX report. The 15” Gullideckel wheels are mounted with Michelin Premier all-season tires showing date codes from 2019.

The interior is trimmed in Medium Red, with two freshly reupholstered front seats, matching rear seats, and a color-coordinated red lower dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Wood trim lines the dashboard, center stack, and center console. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and locks, an anti-theft system, heat-insulating glass, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an aftermarket stereo head unit.

The 560SL is powered by a 5.6L M117 V8 which was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The 560SL was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard equipment. The seller reports that this vehicle has been consistently serviced by a mobile mechanic who is a retired Mercedes-Benz technician and has recently received a new timing chain and air conditioning system components, as well as other preventative maintenance during their ownership.

This sale will include 2 keys, a clean title, and a factory toolkit.

@cserpin64 I can tell you exactly what it is. Those "new" seats are out of a much older R107 chassis SL. The head rests are the giveaway. That style is what they used in the 1970s. It also looks to me like they are not leather and are MB tex. As there aren't the traditional creases like you would get with leather. The factory interior color is burgundy which was more MB's style in the 80s. Traditional red like the seats is more like what you would have seen in a 1970s R107.

@Gman1926 front seats were put in new about 2 and.a half years ago because they were looking a little old. we needed it to be new cause the ocd would always kick in. Back seats weren’t replaced cause no one ever sat there really, maybe color is slightly darker because of the 30-40 years it’s been there

  • Gman1926 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

The back seats are a different color than the front seats. Was something replaced?
