We are pleased to present this stunning 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera finished in Paint to Sample Pearl White Metallic over a Silver-Grey Special Leather interior.  Representing the first of the 911’s to have been equipped with the desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox, this specially ordered 1987 example is also factory optioned with a limited-slip differential, 16” alloy Fuchs wheels, and electric Sport Seats.  Said to remain highly original and in excellent mechanical order with a major service carried out within the last 600 miles, this G50 Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller in California with approximately 77k miles showing on the odometer.

The rare Paint to Sample Pearl White Metallic finish is said to be in fantastic condition and is reported by the seller to appear entirely original.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  Original production labels are said to remain affixed and this example comes factory optioned with 16” Fuchs alloy wheels that feature painted centers. Other noteworthy details include a front spoiler and integrated front fog lights.

Inside, this 911 showcases a beautifully presented Silver-Grey Special Leather interior complemented by a factory optioned Sport steering wheel with raised hub and electrically adjustable Sport Seats.  Other optional equipment includes a rear window wiper, automatic speed control, and an electric sliding sunroof.  The original Blaupunkt Reno radio remains in place and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the A/C which is said to have undergone a $1,410 overhaul on 8/5/2020.

The air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine sends approximately 217 HP to the rear wheels through a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differential.  A major service is said to have been performed within the last year at a cost of $6,800 including a brake fluid flush, new brake pads, front and rear hood struts, a new clutch pilot bearing and pressure plate, clutch release arm, resurfacing of the flywheel, a new transmission seal, and crankshaft rear seal.  This 911 is said to be in excellent mechanical condition, just waiting to be driven and enjoyed.

This sale will include the original window sticker, manuals, tools, jack, air pump, and a clean title.  Presented in excellent condition while boasting rare and desirable factory specifications, this G50 Carrera offers a fantastic opportunity.

Coming down to the wire. Still here if anyone has any questions or needs more information on this 911. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Thanks! -Alex

@TomP852 - Good observation. My biggest concern with cars from this time period (and older) is rust. Once you see one spot, you're always wondering if there are other areas affected...it hides so well and spreads like cancer. Fingers crossed that it's not the case with this one!

Re front spoiler #93&#94 Pics show the mounting brackets. Either it came with the car tho not noted anywhere or was added early on as the bracket and bolt heads are tarnished as if they were there for awhile and not placed back on as if there was any kind of repaint. Do notice some rust on the skid plates and up near the AC radiator. Easy fix tho. Just my thoughts and observations.

@fusechin Thanks and much appreciated. Funny, we had a Porsche being auction on a similar platform in the past year or so and the same vague comment referencing the same Rennlist car appeared there, as well. Just part of the business, I guess. Cheers!

  • Pasha (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @ ChequeredFlag - Thank you!

  • fusechin (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Sorry to even have to be part of the distraction form this very wonderful Porsche auction. But needed to respond. GLWA to all.

  • fusechin (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@ArticFox Ok I just had to reply to this.
You are staying “your friend” got burnt from this dealer? Nothing else just a statement with no proof no details or anything other than a harmful grenade accomplishing nothing but causing harm to a dealer trying to do business. This is a wonderful format but this is the ugly side. A faceless coward making a statement. If you knew about this car or had a personal experience with this dealer or even had a specific experience worth sharing, I can see the value. But you don’t come with good intentions. You come to throw mud and assassinate the character of someone you don’t know. And as far as the rennlist forums are concerned. There are some great and helpful people that contribute on rennlist like they do here. But there are many like you on rennlist and many other places that just hide behind the keyboard and just like to be mean and cause chaos. Shame on you.
I’m all for helpful and iron clad factual information even if not flattering to seller or the car. What you did was shameful.

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Pasha The 'rust' you see blurred in the background is actually just glue from the sound-proofing above the engine. An up close photo has been taken and submitted so you can see for yourself. Thanks!

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@ArticFox I just searched myself, since I am also curious as to our "checkered past". The only thing I could find on Rennlist was that someone was interested in a Aventurine Green Cab who was given different information when he called. I also found plenty of commenters and past customers who were happy with their cars so I don't know what exactly to say. Seems that was in 2006? If anyone is interested in our recent (10 years) ratings, please check us out on Google or Facebook. We also have 100% feedback on Ebay. Thanks. -Alex

  • ArticFox (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Looks to be a nice car. However, the seller, ChequeredFlag, has a "checkered past" (search in 993 forum on Rennlist). My friend got burned bad on a deal with them. Potential buyers, please do your due diligence and proceed with caution.

  • Pasha (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@ChequeredFlag - The picture of the engine bay (#71)...there appears to be rust around the top edge. Can you please verify/confirm? Thanks.

  • ArticFox (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Appears to be a nice car, but seller, ChequeredFlag has had a "checkered past" (just do a search on Rennlist in the 993 forum). I had a friend that was burned on deal. For potential buyers, please do your due diligence before proceeding.

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dlerwin As it sits is how we bought it so I am not sure when it was added or where it came from. Not a bad look though, in my opinion.

  • Dlerwin (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Any idea where the front spoiler came from? It’s not shown on the window sticker and generally was installed in tandem with the rear Carrera spoiler.

@rhmoritz No leaks anywhere to be seen on the underside. Suspension seems to be all original, as well. As for the red couplers, we've seem them on plenty, if not all of the late 80's 911's. It's dry and rust free underneath.

  • rhmoritz (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Can the seller comment on the red couplers and clamps on the exhaust manifolds? Leaks, rust? Why was the DME replaced? Appears all suspension components are original?
    Thanks.

Paint meter readings have been added to the photo gallery.

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@991.1GT3 Also, we generally leave those tests to customers who schedule PPI's, which anyone is welcome to. From driving it, there is absolutely no shortage of power and it drives immaculately. Straight steering, good brakes with no pull, etc. Plus, it was recently serviced so all point lead to good compression. I will still update when we schedule it. Cheers.

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@991.1GT3 Morning. Paint meter readings have been submitted. They're higher, but consistent with previous paint-to-sample cars, which are three stage paint. There aren't any paint lines or turned bolts, plus all stickers are in place. Hoping everyone understands that. Many thanks!

As for the compression / leak down, we haven't performed one but will get on it this week. Hoping to have it before the auction ends. Will update when it's scheduled. Thanks!

  • Caymanorcarrera (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Other than that doggone super light colored interior, this one looks REALLY sweet to me.

R12 preserved and all new components......since those old lines can probably hold the R12 decently,......system should be OK.......not great, but OK.

Originality off the charts. This one is gonna be big.

Can you provide a compression and leak down test?

Beautiful car. I pursued either this car or it’s identical twin while for sale last summer at European Collectibles. Sadly I missed out. One comment however they thought it had been repainted 20 or so years ago.

What work was performed on the engine during the last major service? Can we see a photo of that invoice?
    Thanks!

  • ChequeredFlag (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@murdoch1986 & @superoo The metallic finishes have a way of changing colors in different light and you can see from the video, there are hints of blue and champagne at different angles. Definitely one of the best combo's we've seen. Thanks for the positive feedback!

  • murdoch1986 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

THIS is a Gorgeous color combo! Would love to bring this to the east coast but probably going to blow through my budget. GLWTA.
