We are pleased to present this 1988 Ferrari Testarossa.  Named for its red-painted cam covers reminiscent of those found on the original 250 TR from 1957, the Ferrari Testarossa or “redhead’ is a mid-engine 12-cylinder sports car with styling by Pininfarina and a coveted 5-speed gated manual shifter. This 1988 example is presented in the quintessential combination of Rossa Corsa over tan leather and is distinguished as being one of a reported 390 U.S. versions produced for the model year.  It is now being offered by its seller in Ohio with approximately 27k miles showing on the odometer.

The iconic Rosso Corsa paint is said to be in great overall condition with only a couple of minor imperfections reported on the passenger’s side front fender and rear bumper (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  The wide Pininfarina-designed bodywork is most notable for its striking angles and distinctive side strakes that cover large radiator cooling vents.  This U.S market example can be identified by its rectangular side marker lights, black rear bumper, and third brake light integrated into the vented rear engine cover.  This example retains its factory 16” 5-lug alloy wheels that measure 10” wide in the rear and 8” in front and come dressed in Firestone Firehawk tires.

Inside, this Testarossa features a tan Connolly leather interior with matching carpeting and a brown dashboard.  The cabin is reported to be beautifully preserved with only minor wear to the driver's seat.  This 1988 example was factory equipped with a Passive Restraint System (automatic safety belts) in compliance with U.S. safety standards of the time.  An aftermarket radio has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

This Testarossa carries a mid-mounted Tipo F113 flat 12-cylinder engine with 4-valves-per cylinder, dry-sump lubrication, Marelli Microplex ignition, and Bosch fuel injection.  380 HP is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed gated manual transaxle with limited-slip differential.  The Testarossa was evaluated by Car & Driver at a 0-60 time of 5 seconds and a top speed of over 175 MPH.  This example is reported to be in strong running order, ready to be driven by its next owner.

The sale of this Ferrari will include 1 master key, original books, tools, and a clean title.  One of the most iconic and defining sports cars of the 1980s, this Testarossa is a must-have for any passionate automotive enthusiast.

We're honored to have the opportunity to list another beautiful example with Pcarmarket! While we are no strangers to Ferrari's, the Testarossa is a first to have been acquired by our dealer, and she sure is special! This vehicle belonged to a local collector here in Ohio, which was acquired by another local resident prior to that. Only driven on rare occasions, but mostly sitting amongst his other toys. There are no service records to speak of at the moment, however here is what we can tell you from physical observation and having driven it approximately 40 miles. She drives straight and true with no hesitations or misfires, and starts right up even after sitting for a couple weeks without being on a charge. Overall condition seems to be very original which only a few exterior cosmetic paint chips. No dents, scratches, or scrapes to speak of. Interior leather is in great condition as well with no tears, cracks, or rips on the seats or headliner. Couple of the interior flaws includes The inner felt door seals being "wavy", and the leather on the dash has lost some of its adhesive and starting to come up by the windshield. As you can imagine or hope, this car is a non-smoker. It does however have an odor from what may be considered as "moth-balls", not unusual with collector cars that have been stored. Misc defects would include a couple of the vinyl pieces on the back side of the hood/trunk having come undone, however we did save them so they can be re-applied. With that said, physical inspections, by self or third party, are welcomed anytime during the auction period. Thank you and Happy Bidding!
