We are pleased to present this rare U.S. market 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Club Sport finished in Grand Prix White over a lightweight Black interior with Sport Seats.  Offered as a bare-bones sport-equipment version of the standard Carrera, the Club Sport was built in a limited series of 340 examples worldwide, of which only 28 are reported to have been delivered to the United States.  Creature comforts were omitted from the factory to save weight and performance features were integrated including a short-throw shifter, Bilstein sport shocks, front and rear spoilers, revised engine tuning, and a G50 5-speed manual transmission with limited-slip differential.  This highly collectible numbers matching example is now being offered by its seller in Arizona while showing approximately 31k miles on the odometer, accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, and a clean title.

The signature Grand Prix White finish on this Club Sport is noted to be in excellent condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  In an effort to maximize weight savings, these models left the factory without underbody coating or sound insulation.  Other characteristic features include a sunroof delete, a front spoiler without fog lights, a Whale Tail rear decklid, a rear model designation delete, and a “CS Club Sport” logo emblazoned on the driver’s side front fender.  This 911 rides on 16” staggered-width Fuchs wheels which are currently mounted with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires from 2018.

The driver is situated within a minimalist Black interior featuring a short-throw shifter and manual Sport Seats with Porsche-logo fabric upholstery.  The rear seats were omitted from the factory to save weight along with the power-windows, rear speakers, air conditioning, automatic heater control, door pocket lids, and stereo system.

The air-cooled 3.2 L factory blueprinted flat-six engine is equipped with hollow intake valves and revised Motronic tuning with a higher maximum RPM.  217 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox with a factory limited-slip differential. Bilstein sport shock absorbers are also equipped from the factory. Images of the drivetrain stampings and Certificate of Authenticity are provided in the photo gallery. According to Autocar figures, the Club Sport is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in as little as 5.2 seconds compared with the standard Carrera’s time of 5.6 seconds.  A full oil service was recently performed by Patrick Motorsports and this Club Sport is said to drive beautifully.

This sale will include the original books and window sticker, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.  For any avid Porsche enthusiast, this U.S. market Club Sport presents a very special opportunity.

I owned this car twice and would have to say of the 19 Porsches I have owned, this was the most special. Make sure it goes to a good home. I still have a file box with all of the magazines that featured a road test of the car back in the day. I would be happy to make those available to the new caretaker.
